Gengar is my favorite pokemon, but mega Gengar sucks. I mean, come on! It doesn't have levitate?! So, my Gengar holds a ghost plate.

It has Shadow Tag which prevents switches, an essential part of the game. Levitate isn't a concern if you outpredict your opponent. Mega Gengar is actually quite powerful in the right hands.

Rustboro sounds even more like elevator music now.

And I love it.

Gotta be honest, I'm a bit disappointed by those tracks. It's really just the same tracks from Ruby and Sapphire, just with better quality and different instrumentation. Every piece linked there is stylistically the same as it was in the originals. It doesn't do anything out of the ordinary or derivative for the most part. It feels safe, and safe is boring. Call me a fuddy duddy or a music snob or whatever, it's just my personal opinion. Although I'm not saying I don't appreciate the updated tracks, and I'm definitely not saying that I think every track in the game will be like that.

Abandoned Ship is pretty nice, though, I'll admit.

Well, HGSS was pretty much the same thing.

And this is where I admit that I've never played HGSS.

Also that's kind of irrelevant to my point, but whatever. Just thought I'd share my thoughts.

It's not irrelevant, it shows that they'd rather stay true to the source.

I agree with you, Marcato. Some of the tracks are pretty disappointing.

In the original tracks I remember there was a synth sound that had a sort of underwater-y quality to it. It was only briefly used in the wild pokemon battle music, but I really liked it. They took that sound out in the new soundtrack and it just feels like something is missing.

I just hope the triangle or whatever that was is still around for the Dive theme. Adds a nice touch, like a comfy kind of feeling. And I hope Battle! (Super Ancient Pokemon) takes cues from the HGSS version, that was a good version.

I hatched a shiny aron last night! I've been wanting this thing for forever. I was hatching them in White, but gave up after a couple of months of no luck.
He has 5 IVs. Missing attack but has around a 28 so still really good.
He's an Aggron now, but here's a pic of him freshly hatched.
