And another victory for Cori in the 'biggest video game dick' competition!

They're really not rare anymore, even if you don't account hacking.

Basically everything we already know...

BUT WAIT!
THERE'S MORE!

The first details of the demo have been revealed! Both Mega Glalie and Mega Steelix are featured in the demo.

And, for the icing on the cake, details on receiving the demo have finally come in the US. The download code for the demo will arrive in the Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter for October. If you haven't subscribed to receive emails from the Pokemon Trainer Club, you have until October 20th to opt in or you won't get the download code. Certainly a step up from the Smash Special Demo Version, where NO warning or deadline was given.

It was pretty obvious for a while now but I'm glad the question is finally dead and buried.

Another one that's been vexing us is if X and Y will be patched for compatibility with ORAS Megas in online and wireless battles between the two sets of games.
The answer is no. That one really hits hard.

Regarding the Battle Frontier, however, the USGamer interview left it open for debate...

With each new mega evolution that gets revealed, I get even more angry. It's like they're blatantly ignoring Zangoose and Seviper at this point. Two of the most iconic Cockfighting Society from that game and they're getting nothing.

I really would have preferred most of the Mega Evos as regular evolutions instead (Audino, Houndoom, etc.)

It feels like the series is becoming way too reliant on them and it's kinda...obnoxious. XY's plot was way too focused on them and it looks like ORAS is gonna be the same way.

I've gotten excited over some of the Megas in the past, but I've always felt a nagging sense of worry over their existence.

I never really liked them--anyone who's seen my previous posts in this thread is probably already aware of that haha. They just seem so gimmicky and unnecessary and a lot of their designs are just plain ugly.

I know I used to make a stink about Fairy type but I'm okay with it now, but I don't think I'll ever be okay with mega evolution. It's just another layer of complexity on a game that was already enjoyable and complex. Maybe it's that subjective question of: how much is TOO much?

Tell that to a twelve year old who has no previous knowledge of EVs and IVs and breeding chains, masuda method, shiny chaining, contest conditions (in previous pokemon games), and shiny values.

Then explain all of that to them and see what they think.

Nah, competitive pokemon is actually a surprisingly deep turn based strategy game. Course, the main game itself has always been piss easy.

But you don't have to do those things.

Also if we're speaking competitive some Megas are terrible in competitive play

I never had a problem with Megas. I just look at them as forms you can activate and deactivate at will. And forms have been around since gen IV and I don't think I've seen anyone complaining about those. Granted, only very few pokemon got different forms, but still.
