I knew GameFreak was going to give it a Mega but I'm still disappointed they did it anyway.

Metagross does not, and will never need, a Mega Evolution.

So Mega Metagross is two Metagross stuck together, Mega Tropius will just be a giant banana.

Calm your collective tits, people, it's just so that Steven has a mega of his own, and I'm willing to bet the Beldum he gives you ingame will have Metagrossite (Metagronite?) like how Diantha gave you a Ralts with Gardevoirite.

Also, it's not 2 Metagross put together but rather a Metang fused to the bottom of Metagross (you can see Metang's eyes and its head spike acts as a goatee) and potentially 1-2 Beldum fused to the back (as it has at least 7 legs if not .

Basically it's the best Mega because it bodaciously combines concepts from each stage to make an awesome Pokemon.



Metagross got horribly nerfed this Gen and hasn't been doing too good since Gen 4 because there's always someone faster and better at doing the job than Metagross (and ground weakness fucking sucks). It needs something to get back up to psuedo status.

Even nerfed it was still plenty strong; that's why it got it in the first place. There was no reason to buff it back up. The only Pokemon who have benefited from Mega Evos are ones who weren't being used, such as Kangaskhan. That was neat. Now we're going to see Metagross in every other team again.

I'm sorry but I just find this whole thing very frustrating.

Steven having a Mega Skarmory coulda been cool though. We need a proper jet engine bird.

It's not like I'm surprised about MegaGross though (geez that makes it sound like an insult. I bet that's totally what people will call it if it turns out to be grossly OP). If Charizard and Mewtwo are any indication they're going to keep making Megas for everyone's favorite Pokemon even if they're already stronk, its clearly less about giving buffs and more about "how can we make old Pokemon cool when we're introducing all these new Pokemon and other stuff?"

Does anyone here battle competitively? I was thinking about trying my hand at it once I get Y, but I had some questions.

Don't do it man, you've got so much to live for.

I've played a bit competitive. Not great at it, but could help out.

Use an online simulator instead of the actual game unless you want to spend ages grinding out a decent team.
