Which kind of EVs does a Bellydrum + Aqua Jet Azumarill want? I'm thinking HP + Attack, but I'm not sure

You usually go HP and Attack with Adamant, yeah.

Though I know some people go Attack and Speed to help Azumarill outrun some Pokemon if you need to use a move other than Aqua Jet (for coverage) or are worried about taunting/Belly Drum failing. You could potentially do a split on Speed and HP if you don't feel like committing the full to one or the other (though full Attack is heavily advised).

Also, personally I run Sitrus Berry to give Azumarill more bulk after the HP slashing from Belly Drum, but you might also look into other items, especially Lum or Rawst berry to prevent annoying statuses or a devastating burn.

Oh geez, I haven't even thought about other attacks
Uuuh
I'm guessing Rough Play and... Superpower is probably out of question. Maybe Bulldoze or Aqua Ring?

I'm horrible with this competetive stuff

Mine runs Aqua Ring, Play Rough, Belly Drum and Aqua Jet.

I've been finding Aqua Ring to not be all that helpful because my Azumarill often ends up ko'd due to how long it can take to set up, so I usually don't even bother with it.
I tried having her hold Leftovers and whiles it's okay, Sitrus Berry is a safer option.
Play Rough though, I recommend it. It is brutal.
Azumarill has pretty poor speedso idk if there's much point in putting ev's towards that stat. Good HP and defenses are what you want to focus on so that it can take hits.

If you're really worried about speed, maybe try running a Pokemon with Tailwind so Azumarill gets a higher chance of moving first.

Azumarill is on my doubles team, and I usually run it with Klefki support (Safeguard, Screens, Thunderwave)

Azumarill runs Belly Drum, Aqua Jet, Brick Break (kind of a good middle ground move, and occasionally breaks down some screens), and Play Rough.

It's immensely satisfying to have the two of them tank through attacks while Klefki gets up to mischief and Azumarill cleans house. A Taunt switch is annoying, but that takes up a turn on one of their Pokemon that they could be using to attack, so it's not too bad. For added humor, I usually run Klefki with Lum berry on the off chance they try to beat up on it in a hurry.

I have to guess when to Safeguard though. First turn leaves me open to early hits that could hurt Azumarill badly, but allowing a thunder wave or a will-o-wisp through is bad too.

Reading all that reminded me why I prefer just leveling something and pick whichever attacks I like, haha

Thanks though, it helped me a good deal.

I think I actually want to make a competetive Mega Venusaur for a change. Apart from getting Leech Seed, what would be some other ideas for attacks? I'm guessing that this, plus Ingrain and Giga Drain with a Big Root equipped is a too risky play haha

not persay, unless you go against something that has like the counter absorb ability.

stun powder/poison powder wouldnt be bad. i think sleep powder is frowned upon

I'd go with Toxic on such a stall oriented moveset.

That kinda set is walled completely by grass types with their powder immunity. Chuck Sludge Bomb on there somewhere.

Toxic will still work though (it's a pretty good move).

grass is immune to leach seed as well right

A grass pokemon is probably going to have a hard time killing you too so maybe you could stall it out with toxic.

ingrain is horrible because you cant switch out

standard special mega venusaur is

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Sleep Powder
- Synthesis

sludge bomb hits hard and has a pretty decent poison chance, and sleep powder puts one of the opposing pokes out of commission

synthesis and giga drain give you a shitload of staying power with m. venusaurs awesome defenses

so a buddy of mine who works at gamestop basically takes the old games and wipes them so its a fresh start for people who want em. (pokemon games that is)

it used to be a long process but now with pokebank he can just basically move everything very quickly so the other pokemans dont get deleted.

yesterday he got a diamond with about 8 arceus's in it

ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
