I finally realized the one flaw that I could never forgive about this generation: the complete lack of new electric-types. You've got Plusle and Minun, who are completely and totally useless outside of being the gen's "Pikachu", and the Manectric line, which suffers from slow level growth without the stats to back it up. All you have left in Gen III to choose from are boring Pokemon from previous gens.

I mean, Chinchou is cool and all, but I kind of like sticking to current-gen Pokemon when I do these runs. What's the point of playing a new game when you're still using Gyarados.

Yeah, but the alternative is a bird with middling attacks, decent speed and average bulk at best that can be effortlessly outsped and KO'd. If he has to run Talonflame, it should be Gale Wings.

Plus, it's still ruined at the sight of any Tyranitars or Wash Rotoms.

I like using new Pokemon for new games, but I always want an Alakazam on my team if I can manage it.

Also, it's funny you mention Gyarados because I actually enjoy breeding good Magikarp. I have about four of them that I haven't trained for myself or traded away yet with perfect HP, Atk, Def, Sp. Def, and Speed. :3

Make that anything that resists Flying and isn't weak to fire. Yeah. But if you don't have such a thing left, Priority Brave Bird is probably gonna kill you unless the Talonflame kills itself with it.

In other news, Trevenant is pretty cool. I'm running Phantom Force, Will-O-Wisp, Leech Seed and Curse. I'm thinking of replacing Will-O-Wisp with Horn Leech maybe but the Atk drop that comes from burning the foe helped me out a lot already. So I don't know if having an offensive draining move would actually benefit me as much against physical enemies.

I started my other game in order to mine event Torchics. However, I decided to be weird, and start the games in French, and then trade myself French versions of the three starters. Hon hon hon.

Also, has anyone ever found an Audino? I check Bulbapedia, and it says, Rte 6, shaking bush. What shaking bush? Where? Like that thing where Durant jumps out in that other place?

Granted it DOES have Gale Wings but regardless I'm not doing an extreme amount of metagaming and chances are when I do go up against someone relatively decent about metagame things it wont matter if I have Gale Wings + Brave Bird or not because chances are I won't last because I'm pretty terrible in general.
