on those bot games just try to find a hero that you are comfortable with that either

A) doesnt need to last hit, negating that aspect completely (supports) or

B) you can get the timing down pat with. certain heroes just have an easier time last hitting as well due to passives (viper)

If you want to focus on last hitting specifically (which you probably should at some point since it's one of the most important and basic skills in dota), you can put
Code:
dota_tutorial_start lasthit

in the console to play a tutorial of sorts where you just last hit against one bot in lane. What also helps a ton is just making an empty lobby (no bots) and do nothing but last hit for 10 minutes. You should try to get at least 50 before playing a carry position in an online game.

Also don't take this the wrong way but I'm sure that's not your only problem :P. It's not easy to get good at dota and recognizing the flaws in your play is the first step to improving.

I like Bloodseeker, his abilities take a bit too much mana, but his ganking capabilities are amazing.

soul ring can be kinda weird to pick up on him but if you are truly having mana issues it helps alot, especially since he can regain it back easily with bloodrage.

good hero choice too

Blademail can still be quite good on him even now they fixed the interaction with bloodrage. It has good synergy because you get stronger when they hit you.

You can also forcestaff people with Rupture, which is quite funny but not really that good imo.

In lane, use Q before last-hitting to heal back up, you have pretty great sustain that way. You can't really spam W for harass since it's so mana-intensive, but it's godly in early fights and you should max it first.

I'm not sure if he's the best hero for beginners being a farm-dependent ganker, cause that means you need to master two aspects of the game to get good at him.

I might upgrade to Medium bots later, my only issue with Dota's bots is that midgame and lategame, they REALLY like to stick in groups to prevent themselves from dying, which really only makes it easier to do bloodrite, rupture, and bloodrage on them... I'm still nervous to really take on real players since it's like every bloody pub player knows what they're doing, and there's always THAT GUY that has to carry the team with Ursa.

Try not to stay on bots too long, you'll learn bad habits because the bots are completely retarded. Though you should probably be able to win against hard bots with ease before you go online.

You can technically start playing online whenever since the matchmaking system is pretty good and it will find people on your skill level, just stay away from ranked for now.

its hilarious how the bots are horrible at everything but still manage to destroy people/people cant learn to kill them

also dont play illusions vs bots. PL, naga, etc they all suck wang cause the bots "know" which one is you which is extremely frustrating

Thanks for the info, I'll try moving my way up in the bots list and try other heroes, I really like Warlock, and a certain youtube video I'm sure you both know of is the reason I also wanna try Juggernaut.

I reward you both with a pizza dog for your troubles.

Nummy.

Juggernaut is still very strong and a good choice for beginners, just don't make the mistake of spinning mid to late game when you should be right-clicking. Don't use your ult when there are creeps around to soak up the damage either. The generally considered optimal build atm is 1-1-1-1 + stats, then maxing crit and healing ward before going back to stats. Not much point in levelling Q beyond 1, the relative damage falls off harshly. It's great for first blood and escaping though. Just Q and tp out.
