My main magic user after MU was Tharja, since I'm so used to old FE games where recruitable enemy units had the same stat bonuses as other hard mode/lunatic mode enemies had making them superior from the get go if you were playing a harder difficulty. Is she actually stronger? I dunno, I didn't check if it was the same for this game.

And I haven't used a single outrealm unit yet. I just can't stand not having supports, which is why Panne has been permaboxed since her husband is useless and she doesn't do well as a double's partner for Yarne. She herself is a max strength gryphon rider, who only sees the outside once more when there's over 12 slots for a fight and no chests on the map.

Is there even a point to reclassify the animal people? Their stones give then stay boosts and they go past the level 20 cap, so I don't really see the benefits beyond skills.

I'm not gonna reclass them. I like giant bunnies and dragons. But, yeah, if you want them to have more skills you need to.

It's basically only for skills, or to keep increasing their stats (I had Nowi hit 30 with at least 6 chapters to go, so I went ahead and changed her so she'd keep up).

On a side note, Beast Killer lances work on taguel. I did not realize this until Yarne was already in harm's way. Fortunately for him, he inherited Vantage.

Are there Triangle Attacks in this game or did they eschew this in favor of pair ups?

There doesn't seem to be one listed on the wiki. So I'm guessing no.

I swear Kellam has actual stealth because EVERY enemy ignores him unless he's the only guy in range.

HE'S A KNIGHT, HIT HIM INSTEAD OF CORDELIA

Enemies automatically go for the weakest enemy in range. This usually means highest damage, but they also seem to attack people who's weapons are about to break.

Also, Cordelia is a fucking beast she shouldn't be dying.

Lunatic mode is supposed to get easier in later chapters when you can grind and such
But before chapter 4 and spotpass grinding
before chapter 3 and the ability to trade items before starting the level
there is chapter 2.

4 hours before I could get a working strategy, learn how to position the enemies just right, get Frederick the elixir that I should have traded to him before the end of the last fight, keep all the weak units from dying while making sure they get enough chip damage to kill the soldier that ignores Frederick for them.
Chapter 3 was pretty easy in comparison. Speaking of, did you know that after 10 or so attacks trying to get exp from an enemy using chip damage, they stop giving exp?

I started a new file, switching genders on Avatar/Robin and going for a pure magic build.

Switched classes at 10 to Mage, gonna' promote to Sage, pickup Tomefaire, then go for Sorceror to get... that one ability whose name I forget. The hurt=damage one. If there's any time left, then back to Grandmaster to get Rally Spectrum, which is boss.

Lunatic mode woes

I tried Lunatic in the demo. I died three times in a row. I wish you luck for daring to face these challenges.
