AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Just beat the neutral ending and well, I don't know what I was expecting for a final boss but it certainly wasn't a giant lovecraftian being made up of entirely stock royalty free images forcibly shoved through photoshop many times.
Not that it was a bad thing anyways, it certainly threw me off guard.

Also I didn't die to it.
And I was playing it blind.

It's actually not that difficult of a boss, you have a lot of hidden health, and even if you die you can just pick up where you left off.

I don't know if your equipped items make any difference in that battle, but I had the notebook equipped when I fought it, so that may help.

Since you can't change gear when getting there, I don't think it matters at all.

As a person who's seen so many playthroughs now, the neutral end fight is now more fun and awesome than scary. The initial appearance of Photoshop/Omega Flowey is still kinda chilling, though.

If I ever find out, I'll let you know.

Mettaton cosplay is going well, now I just need to figure out what gray facepaint I want (i've narrowed it down to the ever reliable ben nye vs kryolan) and I'll be done the makeup.



I rushed the actual face design part but that's the idea there.

Muffet is giving me real problems in my first playthrough. I just can't bloody survive long enough. She's brutal...

I especially hate the later encounters with her pet... dodging all those spiders is impossible.

Gotta practice those dodges! I mean, at least you get to listen to Spider Dance while you die, right?


sort of related Muffet tidbit:
I didn't realize until months after I played Undertale and was watching someone else play that her attacks are croissants and donuts.
And spiders.

But croissants and donuts. Boomerangs and bouncy circles! I was convinced.

Only reason I got through Muffet was because I still had Spider Cider. If you still have food from the Spider Bake Sale at the Ruins and eat it during her fight, she'll let you go.

I want to start a genocide run but after what Flowey told me about resetting I am not sure if I can emotionally.
HOWEVER...I think I have a workaround; I'll just copy the game folder and put it someplace else in a folder titled "The pop flyin' Timeline" then reinstall it fresh, that way I can be emotionally clean without having to ruin anyone's happiness :D

There's apparently a fan-made file manager that can save your files in different places and reload them without the lingering effects of other runs you want to do.

EDIT: I think this is the thing?

You can move files and hack the game's intended features all you want, it won't change the fact that doing a run means doing the run. If you're ready to do it, then I think you shouldn't bother with trying to "keep a clean file".
