java is an inefficient coding language and Notch's code is inefficient and shitty

combined that makes minecraft an inefficient piece of shit that uses a lot more processing power than it needs to

laptops run it poorly

if you already have everything on low then get a better laptop

A lot of people are experiencing lag. A guy on the minecraft forums had a hardcore gaming desktop and was getting about 10 FPS after turning the graphics as low as possible and putting his graphics card up to max.

Fortunately I'm still getting 50-60 FPS on my decent laptop but I do get occasional lag spikes.

Augh this is the dumbest thing.

Is there any way I can revert back to an older version? I didn't play Minecraft all that much, but I enjoyed it when I dd.

Fun fact: Power Saver and Balanced under Performance actually make it run slower. Set it to Max FPS, also turn bobbing off. That apparently slows the game down a little too. Once it updates, use this http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/249 ... fps-boost/ It helps A LOT.

Fog always reduces my framerate

Notch really can't know how optimize works

I just turned every thing down as low as possible (even the hud size it counts too lolnotchcantcode) and was getting over 100FPS (on max with normal fog i get like 20) and I'm running on a graphics chip.

I've been having a bit of minimal lag on my tank of a computer but nothing serious

Anyone else having really weird crashing issues though? I'm fine, but whenever Tuxedo Mask hosts our server he keeps getting "out of memory" errors every few minutes, even when he increases the amount of memory Java has available. He found that turning his render distance to normal helped but not very much. His computer isn't new but it has 6gigs of RAM so it really shouldn't be doing that

Allocate more memory to Minecraft.
Ctrl+Alt+Delete, processes, set "javaw" to Realtime.

I used to get low framerate when playing, now I can put the settings on max with no problem, 1.8 thanks for this change. I do get about a 5 second freeze every 10 or so minutes though

That's what he was doing, and it was still crashing

Tell him to download Java 64 bit, if he has a 64 bit version of windows. That fixed it for me.

It might take a bit of searching though, and I don't have the url on hand. Hope this helps anyway.

Unfortunately he also has that...he programs Java as well so all his shit is up to date

I guess it's just some random bug that his computer doesn't like. Makes it pretty annoying.
