Any of you played Cultist Simulator?

I liked it when it came out, like it now, but once you figure it out the gameplay follows a relatively strict formula and its real hard to lose. I still like it because I like that vague writing shit, but I'm probably going to wait until more endings are added before i do a lot.

Been playing Strange Brigade, and it's alright. It has a lot of charm, and is fun to play (at first I imagine, it doesn't seem to get very far beyond its repetitiveness), but the multiplayer system is fairly terrible. It's also based on the Sniper Elite / The Zombie Army Trilogy system.

Loot and collectibles aren't shared, so the only choice to get very far is to play alone or be constantly racing against your teammates to open chests and grab gold first. Which means that multiplayer is recommended after you unlock what you want most, but at that point, you're nearing the end of progression and getting into nothing but repetitiveness. I suppose this game is best at a discount, rather than the full price.

That Direct was really good. The online services bit was nothing new but I love all of Nintendo's non-game promo stuff with all the characters hanging out together.

I have a crush on single dad Bowser trying his best and playing video games with his kid.

Revolutionary tech will be installed into Red Dead Redemption 2, such as your horses' testicles shrinking during cold weather.

Then you can make people print the article about horse balls and at least one person will buy your game because they think the horse ball thing is funny.

MTG Arena went open beta about a week ago and it's still a heck of a lot of fun. Not to mention actually has a decent bunch of content for absolutely free. A modest library and five straight forwards monocolor decks to start with, then another ten fairly competitive decks unlocked just by playing, and the ability to easily grind out any additional cards you need by completing simple daily objectives like "play x cards of either of these colors" (which will always tie in to your new decks as you're unlocking them) for gold. Gold gets you packs or events, and every 6 packs guarantees you wildcards (which can also be in the packs) you can redeem for whatever cards you don't open. Events can pay out gold, packs, cards, and gems. (Which are the same as gold, but can be purchased if you want to splurge on packs or get in on a bunch of events. High level competitive event entries only take gems.)

Main downsides are the fact that it's only standard formats for now (though at least in my case that just meant I found stuff to love about playing standard), they haven't implemented any way to play against specific people, and some people have nitpicks about deck building in drafts since you can't save multiple builds of your deck from your pool. And the unavoidable issues of a game as complex as Magic when you've built up a whole bunch of synergies and triggers and so forth; It can be laborious to click through all of the triggers when you do something like make massive numbers of polyraptors or have 9 lifegain triggers with 4 ajani's pridemates and a dawn of hope on the field. But it does at least automatically pass phases/steps/triggers/etc. automatically for you if you can't do anything, unless you tell the game to pretend you can for mind game reasons.

I was digging through my shed when I managed to find lo and behold, my old copy of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara's Adventure. Playing it now brings back my nostalgia. and my anger.

Epic has launched their new game store. It already has a good bit of developers lining up to make their games exclusive to it. Hades from Supergiant and
Super Meat Boy Forever (but only for a limited time), alongside Rebel Galaxy Outlaw. There's been a lot of hand-wringing about how another storefront is supposedly bad for PC gaming as a whole, how using multiple different stores is inconvenient, etc., but I just don't understand it.

Anybody who's heavily into PC gaming should know how to manage their file directories, desktop icons, etc. to neatly organize their games to where it's not a problem. Discord is a significant unifier of game libraries and friends with its overlay.
Thinking about it another way, games are like books, and the stores are like rows on a bookshelf. I don't care what shelf the books are on because they're all right there, and as long as that shelf doesn't fall apart on me I'm good.

The filing date on the Crazy Taxi patent is October 30, 1998, and it's now over 20 years past that, so we might see more similar games like Simpsons: Road Rage but with less getting sued by Sega.
