No but you can possess it in your chest for a short time as you feel it burning you from the inside out. And free resupply.

also found abandoned mines that took me like two hours to partially explore; are they always so huge, or did i manage to find some weird clump of them?

So I think 404 gave me the map with Dragon mountain. All the mountains surrounding it are chock gull of caves

It was prerelease number two when I downloaded it, but then I booted up Minecraft around an hour later and... UPDATE AVAILABLE. WOULD YOU LIKE TO UPDATE?
As far as I can tell, though, it's identical to prerelease 2. Even down to the fact that endermen sound like zombies. =/
