Long post is long.

Please do not go into a career that involve design or the use of color. And I did articulate, I said that it didn't create the right atmosphere and that the colors clashed. You are the one that has not articulated anything regarding the art other than "It's not that bad"
Arguments like the game being "not the right atmosphere" and having "clashing colors" aren't perfectly clear and objective ways to point out how it's terrible on their own without further explanation.
The thing is, there's hardly a clash of color (If you're talking about the grey-yellow thing) considering past games have used all of this before too. There's always been yellow coin blocks in drab grey and black castles. It's a Mario thing. Also, I'm not exactly sure why clash is such a bad thing. Are we supposed to think that the Mario games are to make some kind of real world sense in how they look? Is Bowser not supposed to have minions sit on yellow coin blocks because it doesn't match their skin tone?
I really don't understand what you're trying to say, which is why I wanted you to elaborate.

or they'd confuse the games.
It's funny you said this, in the image I linked all the games are mislabelled and there is hardly any difference, did you even notice?
Yup. Not hard to tell the difference between the graphics in the 3 NSMB shots.
Top is Wii, middle is 3DS, and bottom is DS.

gameplay stuff
They've shown nothing of new or exciting gameplay, what they've shown in a coin gimmick and shit that was in World.
You do know that this is NSMB's entire point, right? It's to bring back the original mario gameplay and elements while bringing only a few completely new things, usually powerups.
I'm not really sure what you were expecting from a NSMB game announcement.

You are missing the point here so bad, It isn't that they changed the boss charter, they just made him look really, really horrible. Nobody cares that it's the same character. Really, we don't. The argument isn't that "it's different and its 3D so it's bad", The argument is "it clashes terribly, the model work is just horrible, and it looks like shit"
Then it's a matter of opinion not an objective statement as it was put forth.

So..by your logic, it's okay to be lazy and make a shitty game, as long as it sells good?

Mario has an established brand and doesn't need to shake the formula on their 2D mario games in aesthetic style too much to have a successful game.
Besides which, how do you propose they don't be "lazy" and make the games as drastically different in graphical art style as they did back in the old days? Again, the old games were very different because of necessity, not exactly a personal drive to make each game have a distinct image for the sake of art.
Also, none of the models have been recycled exactly. They all had to be redone and improved for the Wii, and the 3DS models are different too (they have less of a gleam and a little less detail). They purposefully are keeping the same style even though they have to redo the models each time. That's actively choosing to keep that art style consistent through the NSMB brand. You may not like it, but it's neither lazy nor objectively bad.

Wanna know why paper mario was such a big hit? Hint it was because they swapped up their formula and tried something different. It had it's own unique art style and appeal to it, the gameplay had fun aspects to it, and the environments were done well.
Want to know why the NSMB series is so popular? Because it revisits what's been done before without the need or overall expectations to be something brand new or cutting edge. NSMB is charming because it's familiar with a touch of newness, and that's all its ever tried to be. And funnily enough, that's what many consumers happen to want.
Again, you may not like it, and it may not be your thing, and that's perfectly fine, it's just not interesting to you. However, complaining about NSMB not being new or innovative or "shaking up the formula" in the ways you're expecting/hoping is like complaining that Pokemon is an monster-raising RPG series. Your wants just don't match up with what the series is about.
Although, I really wouldn't mind having a NSMB game revisit the SMB2/USA concept, even if it was just another game cannibalized by MarioAnd since this post got interrupted twice and so many people have posted since, I'm also looking forward to WiiU... just a little uneasy on price and release window. I'm foreseeing a Wii-like release of shortages if they release too close to the Holidays.
And price may be the difference between whether I try to get one by the end of the year or if I'll wait until next summer.
