I've never played Weegee's Mansion on the GC, but I think I'm gonna get Weegee's Mansion: Dark Moon.

I watched the trailer on my 3DS and it looks like a hoot.

NO, YOU MUST PLAY THE FIRST ONE!

I didn't get the first one because I gathered it was too short.

Dark Moon at least has more than one mansion, right? Plus it'll only be the third 3DS game I've actually bought for my 3DS.

It was short for a "big game" back then.

It's certainly no Super Mario 64, but it'll take a good 6-8 hours to play.

The best thing about it is it doesn't overstay its welcome. The mansion isn't ridiculous in size (though there's still about 50ish rooms probably), and it actually seems like you'd expect a mansion to be like.

It's a pretty under-rated game, and even if the new game is longer, it doesn't invalidate what Luigi's Mansion does.

Plus, it was really the first game where Luigi got to develop from being "Mario's Brother" into a character of his own. They put a lot of characterization into him throughout the whole game, and it's wonderful.

I highly recommend playing it.

I hate hate hate hate HATE the video game criticism of "too short".

If you're willing to pay 30 dollars for a 1.5-2 hour movie on blu ray ($15.00-$20.00 per hour of entertainment) then buying a 6-8 hour game for 50 dollars ($6.25-$8.33 per hour of entertainment) means that that game is not too fucking short.

But I could spend 50 dollars on a 200 hour long game instead.

It would be quite the feat to pack 200 hours worth of content into a game and make it all easily accessible and densely packed, without a few dozen hours of doddering about wondering about your next objective.

It depends on the quality of the game. Luigi's Mansion is a great game, and the optional treasure collection and getting perfect frames for your ghosts makes replayability fairly high for some people. I tend to play through it every year or so.

So while it's a short game, it's something enjoyable and I play it quite a bit. The length may not be justifiable to every person, but to chide it just because it's short seems a bit wrong. After all, Portal 2 was a pretty short game, but the gameplay, story, and puzzles were enough for people to justify spending $60 on the game when it was brand new, even with how short it was. True, it also had Co-op and other features, but not everyone bought it for the Co-op to begin with.

Fuck length, the original is my fourth-favourite GameCube game of all time (behind Pikmin 1, Wind Waker, and Mario Sunshine.)

PLAY IT YOU'RE MISSING OUT
HNNNNNNNNNNG

I dunno, I really like Pikmin 2, but I felt without the pressure of the clock, the game lost a lot of it's focus.

And there was so much in it that the treasure began to feel a bit purposeless.

So I kinda liked the first game better than the second in a few ways.

Games like Terraria and Minecraft (and, to an extent, Animal Crossing) are a bit different in that they do not really HAVE a set "end" condition.

And all that mining probably could count as pointless busywork/"doddering".

I dont think that counts, since thats the main point of the game. You dont buy a game called Minecraft and expect there to be a low amount of mining
