It's not screaming.
It's daisies good music.
Drums are real, everything else is a capella.

Not because it isn't good, Kingdom Hearts is great.
I just don't like to see all these add-ons and have people tell me I need to play then just because.

Actually, people making KH have said that KH3 will just be the end of the "Xehanort saga" and that the series will continue on afterwards. So they're going to milk the series for all its worth and then some.

Re:Coded is retarded and didn't deserve to get remade.
The new 3DS one will most likely suck, but they're putting in Hunchback of Notre Dame world so that's cool.

I actually thought that Re:coded was pretty fun. Story was pointless, but with videogames, especially JRPGs, you story has never been a big factor for me. Also 3DS is to be developed by the BBS team, so it has a chance of being worth it.

No, Phil. I do NOT want to defeat Heartless using barrels. I want to advance the plot. I am NO hero, so fuck off you dirty stinkin' goat!

Friggin' mandatory Coliseum missions...grumble, bitch, whine.

I do find the minigames to be kind of clunky. They need to subcontract out the development of those to another company that's good at it. The coliseum is fun when you're straight on fighting, but barrels...yeah...leave those to DK.

You know that JRPG's are mostly story based games right?
Especially early days when all the combat was the same menu turn based and a good story and characters were essential.

Albeit these days JRPG's are getting pretty gimmicky with their gameplay (FF12, FF13, Resonance of Fate)
I mostly play KH for the story, and I like the gameplay of number and BBS.
The more they derive from that, the more I will dislike it.

The game in general was horrible.
Xion was an add on that didn't need to exist.

You need COM in order to understand the betrayal of Organization members. You need it otherwise Namine would seem like some random...thing that just appears. It would make absolutely no sense at all.

COM is important. 358 is harder to argue for.

Yeah, they have a focus on story, and I can get into them while I'm playing, but I wouldn't ever call a videogame plot good, especially not one with anime and Disney characters flying around and FRIENDSHIP LIGHT DARKNESS HEART.

Also, your last comment has confused me. You like the gameplay of number (?) and BBS, but the more a game is like them, the more you'll dislike them?

The betrayal of the Organization members doesn't really matter.
It was like a side of rice next to a supreme burrito.
Sure it gives more but it's bland and unsatisfying.

Seeing as how they say in the tutorial of KH2 that namine was a witch that can manipulate soras memories your argument is moot.
And you don't realize she's Kairi's nobody until 2 anyway.
So namine was "some random thing" in COM, as far as we know she can manipulate anyone's memories.
But it's 2 that answers that mystery, not COM.

I apologize, I meant deviate, not derive.
And I forgot to the 2 next to number.
I think faster than I type so sometimes I forget a word or two.

And the light hearted tone is nice.
It has a certain charm to it.

Well, I can understand having a favorite gameplay style and being irritated by endless spinoffs with randomly changing gameplay.

I agree also that it's nice to have a lightheated story, would be boring to only read read/watch COMPLEX DEEP DARK stories.

Except that it's not. The Organization are the villains and they're only the thing behind KINGDOM HEARTS and knowing why half of them are dead before the game even starts is pretty important.

Perhaps. But you don't see her importance to Sora as a person rather than a tool unless you play COM, this isn't necessarily important, it's just sappy and feels good man.

Play...with...me.

I played KH2 before COM.
I didn't know why the others were dead, but I assumed either someone else killed them or they died in a crappy spin off.
When I found out I was right it didn't add anything.

And the organization isn't the only bad thing in KH.
They were a pretense to the bigger threat.

She was still a tool used by the organization in COM so..yeah man.

Playing them in publishing order helps quite a bit for the fun factor. If you played KH2 before COM then you spoiled the whole surprise of who these guys were. You also already know which ones are going to die and which ones are going to survive. If you played COM first then you start trying to figure out where the story is going to go before KH2 comes out. You get to see your theories completely averted or subverted or come true. You also miss out on the fun little easter egg that is the menu icons in Namine's room. BBS worked in reverse. I had a million theories on the origins of the Keyblades and Xehanort but if I had played BBS before the others than I would have had none of the fun of that.
