There already is a mobile Pokemon game, it's called Camp Pokemon :^)

Ninty already said no ports of existing games and Pokemon is definitely not going anywhere as far as handhelds are concerned.

They already have pokemon shuffle on the e shop, which has the pay to win microtransactions model down pat. I remember being surprised it wasn't just another mobile game.

Kojima expected to leave Konami after completing MGSV.

I'm a bit sad about this but I'm sure Kojima will do fine. MGSV will likely be a good ending point for the series. Pretty sure this means Silent Hills is either going to go into development hell or Konami will have to get a new game director for it though.

From what I understand he's officially leaving Konami, but he'll continue working on the games he has going on, just freelance.

Kind of like what Sakurai does, he's not technically part of the company, but he's working on their games.

Konami seems like they're going to develop more Metal Gear games without Kojima's help. I don't expect it to end well.

I doubt it. Konami has already started removing the Kojima Productions logo off of stuff he is currently working on. Not the kind of thing you'd expect to see with a healthy business relationship.

This is true. It would still say something like "In Partnership With Kojima Productions" and stuff like that.

Obsidian caves to complaints about a poem on a tombstone in Pillars of Eternity, proves they lack any integrity. The author points out another tombstone that Obsidian could learn something from:

Tombstone wrote:
Far better is it to dare mighty things than to take rank with those poor, timid spirits who know neither victory or defeat.

Another article on the site discusses how much of games should be able to be changed in the modern era of the patch.

I’m just trying to understand the mindset of those who believe they can tweet at a developer “change this” and expect a positive answer. Where does the technical end and the artistic begin? Can you define which parts of a game are untouchable as art, and which are simply software?
Ultimately the most important question regarding this issue is “do you think games are art?” and to me it seems that too many people are answering;
"Yes, but..."

Obsidian didn't "cave in" They asked the backer who put the tombstone in their if he wanted to change it. The backer said yes and he replaced with one that mocked the outcry essentially.

Of course, it's still bullshit that people got up in arms about it to begin with but still.

Regardless of the fact that they went to the backer and asked them if they wanted to change it, taking action in an attempt to change creative aspects of the game based on the outrage of a vocal minority of complainers is still caving in, in my opinion. They could have easily put a disclaimer in the patch notes of the game or the game itself that says "Backer content in the game does not necessarily reflect the opinions of Obsidian" and leave at that.

My main worry when something like this happens is that it opens the floodgates for other people to complain to other developers about content they find offensive in their games and get them to change their content as well. Devs should respond to stray Twitter posts that gain traction.

This could be very true but you have to remember that all devs are not the same and some will react differently than others. At the very least Obsidian did not outright remove it, instead they made sure the backer (Who paid to get that tombstone in the game) wanted it removed or not. Though I do agree that they simply could've put a disclaimer yeah, although I don't think that would've stopped anything.

Polygon "journalist" gets insider information about Lego Dimensions, decides to register the legodimensions.com domain name bodaciously a day before the game is announced and redirect it to Polygon when it is announced, continues to deny that he had any insider information, claims to give back the domain (note that that would require the domain being owned for 60 days but he apparently used some technical bullshit). Domain now redirects to the Lego.com page on the game.

People are actually defending this man right now.

Dina Abou Karam, the community manager for Mighty No. 9, has finally left the project. Good riddance. Hopefully Comcept will get a new community manager that treats the fans and backers with the respect they deserve... If there's even a community left to actually manage.
