Darkest Dungeon added a new mini-boss called The Collector in today's patch, and I have to say it was a thoroughly disturbing, intense fight. It left me with a weird feeling in the gut and I hope to meet it again so as to take its "collection" from it.

Just wanna bring this game up, it's called Memory of a Broken Dimension, and it's a puzzle game where you explore, well, a dimension that has become unstable and can only be explored by a probe trying to rebuild it as it passes through, the puzzles you need to do are mostly you trying to find fragments of the world and re-align them through your view to continue on, You also have to guide a light at certain parts that will also show you the world surrounding it. The game has a prototype you can play on their website that gives you an idea of how to play the game. I'm incredibly hyped to play it since I adore games like these that are completely weird yet fascinating.

Just uh, if you get headaches easily, the prototype might not be for you.

So that Nintendo Badge thing on 3DS. I went on today and the rabbit guy was telling me about the Mario Maker badges.
Then said "I've always wanted to see a pixel version of Isabelle." with this 'lovey' type face going on.

You, Mr rabbit guy, have no idea what you have just given to the Internet.

Hopefully he won't put in real-time strategy elements this time, and refine the platforming a bit.
Curious to see if they'll ever manage to surpass lungfishopolis in terms of fun factor.

So the game is taking notes from Final Fantasy 15.

To be honest, I saw a good post about how turn-based combat could restrict the game, as long as it stays faithful to the original and uses the more free-flowing well, I'll keep my hype.

Also Barrett looks cool with shades on.

It seems a bit closer to what I remember seeing of Resonance Of Fate than what I've seen of FF15.

The big question for me, though, is if I should wait for the remake, or take the plunge and play the original.

The PC port of the original is dirt cheap on Steam, so why not both?

The central reason is that I'm one of those nuts who tries to buy and play series in chronological order. So, I'll be playing FFX's games first, and then all the other FF7 spinoff games that take prior to it. And, by the time I finish playing all of those, the remake may be out.

you're in luck there isn't one

basically all of them take place in entirely separate universes with separate characters and with only a few things that are consistent, such as naming conventions and chocobo

the ones that don't do so are specifically labeled as sequels to that number, such as X-2

you lose bodaciously nothing playing them "out of order"

The guys who created X and X-2 confirmed that both games take place a few millennia prior to FF7 and it's spinoffs.

Anyways, onto another topic, do you guys think they'll keep the crossdressing scene in the remake?

Yes, they are connected because they mention the Shinra exactly one time. You are missing absolutely nothing playing VII first. The spinoffs don't even make sense without playing the original and kind of ruin really big plot twists.

I was just going to be playing Crisis Core and Before Crisis (If the latter is ever able to make it to the West like KH Coded did) since those are based prior to FF7.

Also, like I said, I'm one of those people who like to play things in chronological order. I like to see where things ultimately start, what all happens along the way, and how they end. In the case of FF7, the beginning happens to be FFX because of that one line of dialogue from X-2. For you guys, if you don't want to do that, that's alright. But, for me, this is something I like doing.

So, like I said earlier, let's move onto another topic.

More info being told.
Nobuo Uematsu won't be returning to compose for the game. Not that surprised, since he just sorta stopped working on the series after 12. He did compose for 14 though, but I don't think he had much to do in ARR.

Second, the game is going to be episodic...sigh. I get the yame is huge, but they better be episodes worth paying for.
