the end of G-rank is pretty easy if you know how to play with canons & balistas OR if you love yoloing, take an insect glaive( i highly recommend universus [ the golden rath and silver rath insect glaive] with a def hone if your armor is not fully upgraded if you want to be safer) and mount gogmazios 'till death

(thats what i did to solo a gogmazios without any death (⌐■_■))

OTHER THING : i really recommend an armor generator
called "athena's @$$",(sorry young persons but it is called like this.) it enables you to do your own armor set with the talents YOU want

example :
i want a set with :
- sharp+1
- iai-jutsu
- crit draw
- fast charge

they will give me PLENTY type of set i can do with the charms i have or guild quests armors (you know, the ones that you automatically throw since most of them are bad since they're only rare 7 or 8 )

and i took one which is the best in my opinion (just because it has all the talents i want AND has the best defense) which is :
head : yamato kabuto (G rank dahren)
torso : kaiser X (G rank teostra)
arms : GX tempest trails (event with the amatsu ticket)
waist : kaiser tassets ( G rank teo again, sorry if you hate it)
legs : G. Knight Boots X (G rank arena ! \o/)
then
some decoration here and there + one OP talisman and
heres the result : a powerful GS set with a great defense

Why are there even any armors in High Rank with Flame Aura? It's a cute trick for Low Rank, I guess, but pretty useless in general.

because all armor basically barely matters for skills until g-rank, where it suddenly and drastically becomes extremely important

I think I only managed to solo the Zinogre & Stygian one because vanilla Zin did half the work for me on Stygian.

why would you solo that though

that's not two deviljhos in the arena with no armor or talismans or gate, two zins are actually difficult

ALMOST made it through my first Akantor hunt without carting. Managed to cut off his tail and break his head both times, he hit me with defense down, and I immediately got back up because I thought he wasn't going to follow up.

He followed up.

By that point I figured he was almost dead so I just finished him off with my single cart shame. And now I have a new palico+cat armor and a new sword, both of which I will probably never use.

I really want that Akantor armor though, it has great skills.

Teostra is fucking terrifying

That super nova will live on in my nightmares

Thankfully I did beat him in one try without carting, thank god for Akantor armor with 20 Fire Resistance

Handy tip to remember: Teostra can supernova in his sleep, so if he's in nova mode, make sure to be careful if he goes off and naps.

Also, whenever he charges up, it'll always be a minute before he supernova's, so time it out and you'll avoid it easily. You can also knock him out of it with a successful mount, if you've got a weapon good for that.

I'm not doing so hot facing him with Dual Blades.

Since 90% of the time I'm in Archdemon Mode I can't get rid of Blastblight in any way without wasting time sheathing, during which he swipes at me, causes more explosions, or just rams me like some goat from hell.

I know the solution is git gud but goddamn Teostra. Calm the hell down.

After reading this I am struck with feelings of extreme inadequacy. I'm still fixing Dundorma while everybody else is in G-Rank.
