Alright so
I'm a die-hard fan of the Classics series. I really like it. It's simple and efficient. It's hard, has good music, neat graphics and excellent stages and bosses.

But Mega Man X is FUCKING AWESOME and you should get it. It's in my opinion, the best game of the Mega Man series as a whole.

See I'm of the same opinion, and I don't really care for any of the other X series all that much, but the first one is some bomb booty shit.

When I had the SNES version as a kid I got all the way up to Sigma and then constantly died. Over and over and over again.

Don't think I ever beat it.

Speedruns and TASers, to find the good patterns and practice them.

Oh and bad people.

I only saved state at the stage select after clearing it because I'm a paranoid fuck. Other than that completely legit run.

I'd save state for those awesome fights so I could beat the boss over and over again, or if it's just "Aaaa! half way through the stage and I have to go someplace pronto!" and like Sol said, save prior to selecting a stage.

Also it's my opinion that X3 on the SNES is the best because you get to play as Zero and it has that golden armor upgrade.

Sometimes I savestate before a boss to get the pattern down, but never as part of an actual run through the game.

Sometimes I savestate before a boss in MM2, but that's only because I want to fight them multiple times.

I actually own X3 for the SNES and am trying to get the other SNES ones, hell I'm trying to get EVERY SNES game I find awesome.

Shit yeah. You should pick up Knights of the Round as well; it's rather underrated and easily passed by, but I think it's one of the best SNES games I've ever played. It's a classic Capcom sidescrolling brawler, but this one has a level up system: after you collect X number of points, you'll level up and on certain levels your in-game avatar will change with upgraded armor and weapons. There are three characters, based off of Arthurian lore:
Arthur - The most balanced of the three.
Lancelot - Speedier and has a two-hit jump attack, but not as powerful as the other two.
Percival - Slower and doesn't have a jump attack (his "jump attack" instead forces a critical hit when he lands), but is easily the most powerful of the three. His average footspeed is slower than the others but he can dash a short distance by (you guessed it) double tapping a direction.

But yeah, you should get it if you're into brawlers at all. It's really fun and you can play two-player simultaneous. Be warned, though; in two-player mode the bosses have more HP to make up for the increase in firepower. This turns out to be a real bitch, especially on bosses such as Balbars (FFFFFFFF). There was an arcade version where three people could play, but I like the SNES version better because the sound effects are just so ffffsatisfying.

And now to make this post about Mega Man before I'm BANNED:

I just "acquired" Mega Man Zero 1-4. God help me.

So, which robot master (or bosses from the other games) had the best music, in your opinion? You're allowed to go with different versions and remixes~ And you can have more than one, again ||D (I know it's easy to say "EVERYTHING", but what really makes you think 'Aw yeah'?)

I'm pretty fond of:

and (including the Hyadain mix)

In before Wily Castle Stage 1/2 from MM2

I like the X2 instrument remix of Wood Man's stage; I'll post a link when I get home.

I also like Crashman's stage theme and the MM2 Wily Castle Boss fight theme. Also that spoiler is being used as a strikethrough since we have no strikethrough code.
