I understand what you meant fine; Link represents you in the way he basically had nothing to him. He was an obviously mute you could make into anything you want. If you thought he was stupid, he'd be stupid. If you thought he was nice, he'd be nice. But you don't seem to be seeing what we're saying in the sense that instead of just turning him into who we are if he doesn't have a back story, we look at his back story and relate it to our's.

I have parents. If Link didn't have parents, I'd feel he was not me and could never be me. That's is my point. :>

Well to me and the others we can be someone by relating to them and realizing we are the same. For you though Link is just you despite a different appearance and stuff. Can we drop it noooowwww because this argument is pointless and hurting my eyes?

personally, i think it would be a cool twist on a played franchise, though miyamoto does seem to make it fresh with each installment.

it would essentially be the same old zelda formula but with a dash of cyberpunk.

think about this, link gets in a street fight with abunch of corupt bouncers and he whips out the ancient and forgotten titans mitts and totally kicks their booty by hurling a car at them.

or perhaps hes being charged by a gang of hackers and he whips some relic of old (the mastger sword) and they all laugh at him but in the end he beats their booty.

im game.


but id rather see a remake of ALttP.

For one the title is still an oxymoron. Two, it is a game meant for old age time, everyone recognizes Link as that and has been successful since. Why fix something thats not broken? (Unless your a white hat) That and it just reeks of something they would not do, it just doesn't feel right at all.

i can see what you're saying, but i find it intriguing, nonetheless. i wish he could make one coppy just for me so it wouldnt ruin the good zelda name.

It's an intriging concept, but I'd rather see them introduce it as a new series on its own than make it a new Zelda. As it was already said, they don't need to fix what's not broken.

anywho as I've said before, if the zelda series is going to take a new direction, it would most likely be an RPG game, not saying they should, not even saying it would be a good idea, just the most likely way they'd add a new sense of flavor to the zelda series

and I agree, they don't need to mess with the zelda series, which has pretty much defined the hack-&-slash adventure genre

i wouldnt call it hack and slash,

diablo is hack n slash. Gauntlet is hack and slash,

zelda is hack, find a key, back track a few rooms, slash twice, get lost, stop and think, slash again, hack, then move on to the next room where the big chest is.

and fall in love with fishes.


and i dont think an rpg would be the next logical progresion. i can see something like muliplayer...wait, we have 4swords which fits the bill PERFECTLY...

ok, then....

all i can really see is making the game ever deeper and larger, more complex...like majoras mask.

now THAT was one hell of a story line.

"Link, you're the only one who can save us!"
"HIYAAA!" {How?}
"First, you must find the three Holographic Projectors."
"Haa!" {I understand.}
"Then, you can use them to get to the legendary Master Lightsaber and defeat Ganonbot!"

And that is why Zelda shouldn't be futuristic.
