Yeah, but in the end it kinda just means more unplayed games in your library.

Is Sonic Generations worth picking up now if I've never played a single Sonic game to completion?

Only if you're buying a ton of games you don't actually want. Once I get a good enough computer, every game in my library will be played. This means Fallout 3, Oblivion, Witcher, etc.

So far I've got Sonic Generations, Portal 2 and Mirror's Edge. Though it turns out my laptop might be too weak to run Sanic properly; I'll have to do more testing tomorrow. This has me concerned about how the other two will run... not to mention I've been eyeing Just Cause 2 for a long time and I'm expecting it to have a sale at some point, but again I'm not sure if I could play that either if my computer has trouble with these other games.
Also got Sonic CD and another copy of Portal 2 for my friends. All of these were mostly impulse buys. 25€ spent so far and it's just day 2.

I bought Binding of Issac yesterday for $2.50 and now its on sale for $1.24. I've learned my lesson for the summer.

Re-asking this, and I've got another question. Skyrim's on sale for 40 bucks, do you think it'll get any lower?

Sonic Generations is pretty good, Wait to see if skyrim gets a daily deal/flash deal/ whatever and if it doesn't buy it on the last day of the sale.

The complete Alan Wake series is going for ten bucks though, that's a fucking steal.

Worst thing about this I can only download 2 games per month or so.

So I need to try and sort out which I want to play first and make the other be unused for a long while.

Turns out Sonic runs slightly better on a cooled-off, just-booted computer with no other programs running, but it's still not full speed and it starts seriously slowing down as the laptop starts melting from the heat. I've set all the graphical settings to low and everything. Any tips on this? At least Mirror's Edge seemed to run very well after lowering the settings on that a bit, so I'm optimistic about Portal 2 too.

Generations is gonna be HARD to run. It's really fast, with a lot of things happening, long levels, and a lot of effects.

If you're not running it at the lowest settings you're more than likely just not going to run it.

Bought everything Alan Wake for 9€. I already have the base game on 360 but haven't even removed the plastic wrap yet. I had planned on getting it on PC through a torrent (since I already owned the game, just not the version I wanted to play) but this deal got me the base game, all DLC, some bonus content and American Nightmare, so why not.

If you can run Generations, you'll enjoy it.
For Skyrim, the 40% isn't a daily deal so there's no harm in waiting until the last day to buy it, just in case.

Edit: also re: GF talking about running Generations: not true. My computer is below minimum graphics card and runs the demo fine at 1280x1024 with only the shadows set below medium. It'll be playable even if your computer only comes close.

Edit 2: oh whoops, thought he was talking to Topaz. Yeah, if you're having trouble running it at minimum settings I think you're out of luck, dude. Sorry.

Skyrim's half off today, looks like that's as low as it will get.

Hmm, $42~ for Skyrim and New Vegas, or $50 dollars for both plus all the NV DLC?
I think I'm gonna hold off, unless there's a better sale on NV at the moment too.
