I am the most excited for this. My guild got together with some others to coordinate in WvW - it's gonna be so much fun.

Anyone going to be participating in the beta weekend? All characters from the previous betas are going to be wiped, so everyone's starting fresh at level one. I'm rolling on Gates of Madness with others if you feel like getting together at any point!

Also, here is yet another reason ArenaNet is a p. cool guy.

Racist gnomes.
They look cool and I am thematically obligated to always pick the shortest race.

Who wouldn't want to make a giant anthropomorphic cat with bull horns?

I wouldn't, because the Sylvari are bioluminescent.

Glow in the dark master race.

I was with one of my friends who was playing an Asuran so I went to the main city with her so we could do some Hearts and grab some skill points but HAHA CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET OUT OF THAT CITY, NOW CAN YOU.

We ported to Lion's Arch and went to the human starting area instead.

I always have a habit of going warrior and ranged types, so I feel like switching it up and going Cabbage People Thief.

since people were on gates of madness for beta, if they keep the same servers for release will everyone be using that server?

I played a human warrior in the first two BWE, but decided to go with an asura necromancer for this one.

I have to say I am a big fan of the new way undead minions work. Maintaining them is a lot easier now because they don't auto-degenerate health like in GW1. In the event one of them does die, you just wait for the skill to recharge and you summon a new one, without having to look for a corpse. Unfortunately you can't have huge armies of them anymore because when you use a minion skill to summon a minion, it is replaced with an ability skill for that minion that won't disappear until the minion dies. Fortunately there are minion skills for all five skill slots (in fact you start out with a lifestealing minion skill for the heal slot), and if you take as many as possible you can still whip up a pretty big gang.

And of course there's Death Shroud. Ah, I love Death Shroud. It has saved my life on several occasions, because not only will it make you much more powerful for a short time, it also diverts all damage to the soul power meter instead of your health, buying you precious time when your health is low. Of course you have to make sure you're actually in (relative) safety by the time it wears off, but it is still an amazing panic button.

I'm not sure if my guild will stay on Gates of Madness because of how ridiculously populated it was during BWE3 - most of the Philippine guilds were trying to make it the official PNOY server, among other things. I'll be posting where I'm rolling once it's made official. Have all you guys pre-ordered?

Excite as hell
Gonna go with an Asura, not sure what class. Probably Necromancer, Elementalist or Engineer.
