Tablet drawers immediately have an upper hand in any game that uses the touch screen. Hahaha.

I have to say that the idea of having a touch-screen on the new control pad does leave it open to getting scratched/greasy too easily.

I don't know how advanced touch-screen technology is these days, what with the advent of the iPad (is the touch screen of the iPad completely solid or is it still 'soft' like the DS screen?).

If it's possible to have completely solid touch screens - that would make the new control pad easy enough to wipe clean (I can't imagine that the iPad isn't wipe clean), so that would alleviate my concerns somewhat.

That is why I don't let people use my controllers without washing their hands first, and no, you cannot eat potato chips and cheese curls while we play because then it gets the controller nasty.

And I clean my DS all the time. Damp rag, dry towel.

I think if they make the controllers durable enough, it will be a pretty good idea considering the possibilities. Let's just hope they can keep the price within acceptable range. Also,

Nintendo: releasing a next gen console capable of running current gen games.

I kind of just want a controller. Nothing gimmicky, just d-pad, some analog sticks, cross button array, shoulder buttons, and start/select buttons. Personally I think the PS2 controller is the best ever designed, with just enough buttons for various functions but not so much you get confused which is which.

I actually found the PS2 controller to be really uncomfortable. It just never fit right in my hands.

The GameCube controller is probably the best controller.

The ps2 and gamecube controllers are both great controllers. The PS2 controller is better though, it has just enough buttons to offer a lot of functionality, and not too much.

I like the GameCube's best in terms of ergonomics, but it was really lacking in terms of buttons. The PS2's stick layout also made more sense, because it was symmetrical.

Ideally, though, I'd have also added the GameCube's/XBox's analog triggers. (which I think they did for PS3?)
