Oh man, the N64...
I don't know about you guys... but this game was my most favorite... still is actually. Sometimes, I'll pull out the N64 and invite my friend over to play through the co-op campaign.
Edit: Thought I would write a little bit more, seemed a bit small.
The campaign on this game wasn't too long, but you also were drawn into each mission well if you were aiming for all the bonus pick-ups (must find more tank bucks arghh), and in my last co-op run, the fastest level completion time we had was about 10 minutes, where we had been rushing to the end due to time constraints. The tank bucks system of buying tank lives was kinda annoying if you didn't search high and low for the pickups, leaving you with the worst tanks if you aren't OCD about collection.
As for multi-player, I didn't get much player versus player experience, mostly just playing the team based mode against computers for fun. Most of these team battles turned very chaotic and unpredictable, which was quite a lot of fun for me to partake in. (1 vs 1 went fairly slow when I did play them, although that could just be attributed to us dodging each other constantly throughout the fight.)
Then there was also the Capture-The-Flag mode, but it didn't work well with the maximum 4-player factor of the '64, often I found myself harassing one enemy base, only to find my flag missing upon return.
Graphics were fair for the time, it would have been hard to expect chaotic combat with exceptional graphics at the time though.
Urgh so much nostalgia now
Glad I still have my
original cartridge and N64... think I'll go play it now.
