Right... what has that got to do with this thread, 566?

Yeah. Original in that it brings a whole new level of suckage!

It's a game screenshot of the title screen.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are a gold mine of glitches and bugs. They're mostly the kind that make scratch your head, though that is not to say that it's without its game breaking bugs. Still, terrific series. I would definitely recommend it.

Image

Levitation. I have had this particular glitch happen more than a couple of times.

Image
Image
Image

Cement shoes, another various glitch that is not entirely uncommon.

Image

It's exactly 9000.

Image

Dynamic bullet dodge!

Image
Image
Image

NPCs ignoring the physical properties of things, yet another common glitch. All that radiation from the Chernobyl Power Plant must have caused objects to lose their ability to stay solid. Or the NPCs just have poor collision detection. Could go either way.

Image

BUTT BUDDIES.

Image

"All right, all right, we'll kill him first, and then have tea and biscuits."
"Yeah."
"Oh not biscuits."
"All right, all right, not biscuits, but let's kill him anyway!"
"RIGHT!"

FUCK I'M HIGH.

Ding dong, the witch is dead.

Ugh, S.T.A.L.K.E.R... I'm not one for games that have places akin to the ghoul filled sewers of Fallout 3...

I'm extremely jumpy... Idk how I made it most of the way through Dead Space...

Speaking of Fallout 3, I discovered that when you turn off the AI using the console command, anything you kill freezes in place...

It can cause bodies to become... Skewed...
Image

The same thing happens in both Oblivion and Morrowind, probably because Bethesda uses the same console in all 3 games

That's because you're turning off collision detection, which means that you're forcing all objects to stay in place. When you kill a NPC, they change their classification from a NPC to an object (a corpse). The resulting skew is resulting from the clash between the physics engine and its command to stay in place. Or at least, that's what I believe is happening.

Also, Fallout 3 uses the same game engine as Oblivion and Morrowind (Gamebryo), so it probably shouldn't really come as a surprise that they use the same console.

Its common in videogame engines for, when a character model dies and is converted to a 'ragdoll' object rather than a pre-animated model, the physics will... temporarily 'vomit' in the process. Normally, being only about one frame long, its not noticeable at all, but when the model is frozen like that, or in a screenshot, it becomes distinct.

You might notice it more in games with a Replay feature, like Halo3.

See, these are the kind of posts that I'd like to see coming from you more, Plasma. Simple, informative, and not controversial. Terrific post, mate. Well done.

It would seem that NPCs in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are more interesting dead than alive...

Evidently, rigor mortis sets in quicker when you're within the radius of the Chernobyl disaster area. Either that or everybody in the future will be born with a fixed spine. Or, alternatively, the ragdolls could just suck. It could be any one of those.

I wish that I was able to do that.

Zombie Jesus died for your brains.

I don't even KNOW what happened here. He's supposed to be alive when you come to rescue him, and there are no enemies stationed anywhere near him. So, I'm still trying to figure out how the hell he died.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That's such an amazing pose to die in. It just screams, "I may be dead, but I'm still awesome."

Not going to ask, because I don't want to know...
