Yeah, they were hard and scary bosses, but I love what they did for the game. Those two bosses adding an element of horror to the game make it one of my favorite Metroid games ever.

Kind of sad that Other M ruined The Nightmare for me. :C

I just remembered a boss that can go and die in a fire...
BLOODY MARY FROM TERRANIGMA.

Seriously. Screw her. If you don't have that one spear that deals bonus damage to undead you'll just be dealing 1 point of damage (with crits of 2-3 damage) per hit.

The Gym Leaders in BW2. All the wild Pokemon in the area are, like, ten levels weaker. I had been grinding for Elesa for months before going "fuck it, a lvl 27 Sandile is good enough."
FUCKING THUNDER WAVE

Cranidos in Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. I know you're supposed to get in a few quick circles before the falling rock attack, but the attack takes so long that the entire frienship meter or whatever goes down.

Emperor Bulblax in Pikmin. I had a horde of 100 Pikmin to fight him. I didn't move them in time, and in three seconds I had one measly Red Pikmin left.

Burrowing Snagrets in Pikmin/Pikmin 2.
*Shudders*

Beady Longlegs in Pikmin/Pikmin 2.
Jeez I just realised how hard Pikmin is. I guess I'm just good at it.

I felt the Nightmare and the SA-X were the best daisies fights in the game.
Challenging yes, but that's part of the fun.

Fuck Ridley tho.
No matter the game, hemops the floor with me.

For SA-X I remember just sort of needing to get into the swing of things for dodging it's attacks until it becomes huge.

Everyone's talking about Metroid Fusion

And I'm just sitting here playing Pikmin

I'd rather be in your shoes.

I'm grinding for Elesa again. I didn't actually want to use Sandile, but having chosen Oshawott it is bodaciously the only thing available that doesn't get 1-hit by Zebstrika.

I remember having trouble with Jecht's Anime Badass Form but that was only because I hate grinding

I was able to beat Yunalesca on my first try. It took everything I had and much time, but I did it. For me, Yunalesca is my "that one boss" in a sense that it was my first truly epic boss fight in my video gaming "career." She is hard though.

For me, my biggest those few bosses:

The giant blowfish in DK 64, back in the day. It wasn't hard until the end where it was hard to see and you had to be perfect in the last few seconds.

The Imprisoned in Skyward Sword.

And finally: Hades in Kid Icarus Uprising. That last stretch is rough.

Contrarian King in Persona 4/The Golden. I wasn't able to beat him until I was lucky enough to get a Skill Up Shuffle Time card, which gave me Reflect Phys.

I don't think anyone who played that game ever will disagree with you.

The gym leaders in pokemon were never really troublesome to me. I don't remember ever having to do a certain one more than 2 or maybe very rarely 3 times.

The Spikey Tiger in Secret of Mana. I don't know why, but I always end up underleveld by that point. Also, that wall with the eyes on it, also from Secret of Mana.
