Problem is that it's implied that everything currently under the NCR is actually rather civilized and safe. There may be a few pockets of frontier left to explore, but I'm not sure if it would be worthy of an actual game.

Man I just want to be able to explore a post-apocalyptic version of my hometown.

Maybe head up north and see the ruins of Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
Or the Bourne Bridge as the last method of reaching the cape that's still standing.

It would just be SO COOL

The current civilized frontier is in the Mojave, or slightly past it depending on how New Vegas ended. Past that is Legion territory, and past that is the Midwestern Brotherhood.

I know that it's extremely unlikely that the Fallout series would ever move from an American setting (due to all the Americana and the 50s/60s feel of it etc), I do wish that they would make at least a DLC or something that takes place in another country.
