Alright, hey, got some bad news about Minecraft 1.8. Notch has offically decided to show 1.8 at PAX Seattle. And PAX is from August 24-25th. Then Notch is going to take all feedback, make any changes, and then release it.

Thus, we're looking at a 1 month plus wait until 1.8 is out.

Pity.

You thought it would live up to the hype he's trying to build?

Well that sucks. I kind of like the idea of making a huge update to provide a stronger sense that the game is making progress, but if it means there's no updates for at least a month, it's not worth it.

Oh well, guess I can just download a ton of proletariats.

give Mojang a break. they only started 1.8 development a month ago and are only now working with Bukkit on testing. not to mention the concepts for the mushroom biomes and the fortress dungeons are not even done yet.

Honestly, I can wait. I just figured it'd be a bit sooner than shown now. Oh well, I'm fine with it waiting. I got nothing better to do. Just hope it comes out before school starts.

To be honest, updates every second month would be preferrable. That way they have time to test stuff and the proletariats don't get broken all the time. Same with the servers.

On the bright side, the longer we wait, the more they add, and the more excited we will be for it to come out.

I kinda like the idea of giving Minecraft more playability with Game Boy Zelda style dungeons and monsters and stuff.

I'm not sure how I feel about the dungeon walls being unmineable (indestructable), though maybe I read that wrong.

That would be great if that's how it's going to work.
