Finally beat the game after renting it a week ago.

I don't ever rent games, but the general consensus seems to be that it's good for a few playthroughs and not much else. So I'm seriously considering it, due to lack of cheddar.

I just can't afford paying release day prices for these games anymore. If any game I've played recently deserves it, though, it's this one.

EDIT: I'm sure people have been waxing philosophical about this game and its ending since it came out, but I really enjoyed this video and wanted to make sure others saw it as well.

I pre-ordered Infinite because the bonuses were absolutely insane. I got XCOM and Darkness II along with Infinite.

The Sniper Rifle is a beautiful thing if used correctly.

++Hail Fire, too.

whatever the mortar cannon was, that was a pretty good weapon

everything except the pistol, hand cannon, carbine, and shotgun just felt too situational, while those four worked anywhere ever

You remember whne Elizabeth threw you that sniper rifle?
I wonder why she never did anything like that ever again.

she tosses you guns constantly
but that one point is when she sees the sniper rifle first, after you point out the sniper, so she thinks fast and tosses it to you

after that, snipers are semi-rare, and they usually put the rifle BEFORE the sniper so there's no need

The ending made me even happier that I made this my first ever Release Day game.

The ending was honestly perfect for the story. I don't have any better ideas about how they could have wrapped up the whole thing.
It also made clear a lot of the parallels between the three games that really make everything so much cooler in retrospect, and being able to go backwards and make things make sense without actually remaking the first game? Fucking brilliant.

Remember that movie theater in Paris that showed "Revenge of the Jedi"? That was Return of the Jedi's original name before Lucas switched it, but that occured BEFORE Infinite, implying that the Universe that THAT Paris was set in was one where Lucas never changed it.

Oh my fart, Irrational.

big spoilers ahead

Booker has a lot more in common with Alpha than Jack.
Both are fathers trying to take their daughters out of the city, with something mental in the way. Both have brands on their hand which shows exactly who they are. Both have to deal with the big bad wanting to use the "Lamb" to create their ideal society. Both have forgotten their past to a point. In the end, both die to save their daughters, though in doing so they ensure that they are together forever.

You can also hear Songbird die in the first game. At about 12 seconds in.
