Anything with offensive DLC hasn't really touched me at all. For New Vegas, I actually ended up buying each DLC one by one because I was genuinely interested in what would be in each DLC, what the story would be like, what kind of cool shit would there be, etc. And, more often than not, I was really satisfied with what I got and it was reasonably priced. Except for Dead cheddar maybe but I only bought that to get to play JSawyer's mod and it was on sale etc.

I know about that. I was able to trade in my vanilla New Vegas game to get that (which came out to me spending $20 on just the DLC, which isn't bad). I still don't know what companies have against releasing all of the DLC in their own little CD. The way both Fallout 3 and New Vegas did their GOTY editions was that disk 1 was just the game, and disk 2 was jut to download the DLC.
What's wrong with just selling Disk 2 by itself for those of us who ALREADY have the game? It can't be that it's a waste of a CD because I already have both disk 2s just chilling in my CD case. I'm tempted to sell them to someone just so I can a) not have them anymore and b) have some cheddar. Plus is keeps my friends from playing disk switch with the clerk at gamestop.
Well, one of the things is release schedule. DLC is usually pretty spaced out and such, and it's more like "here pay some cheddar, pick up that old game, and do more shit with it!". And it's supposed to be less offensive than Day 1 DLC where you just payed for the game and then it asks you to give up more and more of your cheddar for bonus content that could have gone on the disk (then again, so could a lot of DLC provided a later release date).
Also, DLC is kind of a subadventure thing. Most of the Vegas DLCs were designed to be a pick-and-choose type of deal; they're not all going to be for everyone, and not everyone wants the extra missions. I.E. Old World Blues was made for people with a specific taste in humor, Dead Cheese was made for people who liked survival-horror and a darker atmosphere. As mentioned above, I probably wouldn't have bought Dead Cheese had there not been that silly requirement jsawyer's mod has.
The last thing is producers probably don't want you to, and would rather have you buy each one individually anyway. More individual sales = more cheddar, and you don't buy a new horse until the old one is dead.
