There's quite a difference between hearing about a few significant parts of the game and watching an entire playthrough of it, albeit an awkward Twitch input-based one

You can buy it if you want to play it yourself, we won't stop you, but I feel like the experience loses some of its luster if you've seen it all done before
But that's just my opinion, if you want to play it, then play it

So I started this game today and right off the bat I killed Toriel because I don't know what I'm doing.

Reset instantly and actually learned what to do so, only for Flowey to mock me.

I want to punch Flowey already.

By the way, does killing someone and then reset ruin the pacifist run? As mentioned above, killed Toriel at the start and reset, hoping that I can still go for the pacifist run if possible.

Nah, Flowey berating you is the only thing affected by a reset

Theaggyyu is one magnificent bastard.

I don't know if it's just me or what but that's actually harder than the actual fight.

Which one? Bad Time Simulator is endless, and you only have 1 HP.
Megalovania SM5 is just brutal, though.

Also, I must confess, I like the Homestuck version of MeGaLoVania more.

The first one. It's not that it's endless that makes it hard, it's just that the controls don't seem as fluid as they actually are in the game or something.

Yeah, creator said that it was hard to make it match the movement of Undertale exactly.

In other news...

So from my understanding, there's a pacifist ending where you don't kill anything, but then there's also a TRUE pacifist ending where everybody is best friends forever that requires more complicated work. Is this true or am I misunderstanding something?

I think it's just a neutral ending unless you get true pacifist.

There are several different neutral endings and three or four of them involve not killing anything. In your first playthrough you have to go through a neutral ending before you get the True Pacifist ending because a significant portion of the game is locked until you do so. After going through that part of the game you're whisked right back to the end to start up the finale.

To be more exact and spoilery you have to not kill anything to get the best neutral ending, and then reload your save from before the final boss, which allows you to go back and unlock the last area of the game, which leads to the true pacifist ending.

This game looks so amazing! I would totally buy it if I wasn't saving up to get a New 3DS XL on Black Friday. For now though, I'll just content myself with watching Super Undertale Bros. and listening to Megalovania on loop endlessly.
