Tediore guns are the biggest ammo dumps in the game. I barely ever shoot a Tediore gun; I shoot once then immediately reload, one-shotting most of the regular enemies.

I feel they designed certain weapons/manufacturers around certain classes. Tediore's are awesome in the hands of a Gunzerker, or someone teamed with a Gunny with the ammo regen class mod on. SMG's are best in hand of the Commando and Sirens, and Snipers are best in the hand of Zer0. Assault Rifles are good (if you can find one with decent stats) in the hands of the Mechromancer, especially if you can find a nice purple mod that gives 30%+ accuracy and damage to AR's. And you can find that fairly early, I got one at lvl 15 and have been using it since, and my Mech is nearly lvl 50 o.o.

At least they don't make certain guns better with certain classes.
Who the hell uses SMGs those things are all terrible, for me at least. Shotguns and pistols all the way.

i like SMGs

I like SMGs and LMG-style ARs for my Gunzerker.

There's a lot of really good SMGs. Either of the Moxxi ones are just amazing, and if you get a high-damage Hyperion then that's just icing on the delicious delicious bullet cake.
They're also really good for Little Big Trouble Mechromancers, because Shock SMGs are not rare, though Ordered Chaos Mancers are better off with a one-shot Jakobs for EXTREME ANARCHY GAINS.

Shotguns and pistols are my bffs, smgs make me mad because unless they're Hyperion the accuracy goes to shit and seriously fuck Hyperion guns

There's that Slag SMG you get for siding with the Zaphords in the Clan War quest.
It does shock damage and slag. At the same time. So it does two kinds of the same amount of damage, but one gets a bonus.

Also the accuracy on SMGs isn't that bad if you use them at medium range, like you're supposed to.

IT SLAGS YOU WHEN YOU SHOOT IT, WHY.

Because not only is every bullet doing twice the amount of normal damage at least, the shock damage is getting bonuses from the slag.

That is SERIOUS power. It needs a drawback.

EDIT: also it doesn't slag you when you shoot it, it slags you when you take it out

My favorite brands are tediore and Bandit, Tediore because lolthrowguns and decent damage, and Bandit makes fantastic shotguns.

Jakob makes the best pistols, pure damage and fast as a finger can finger a thing.
I wanted a good slag weapon, prefferably a grendade, but all the slag grenades to piss poor damage, especially since I got this grenade that does 1992 damage and spawns 3 child grenades too.
Also I beat the Sheriff, she dropped a really awesome sniper rifle.
