It was already confirmed that the port strike affected the Amiibo shipments

And I thought the strike was over

Yes the strike was a confirmed factor, but the info that there are amiibo shipments there right now means that when everything's done, a bunch of amiibo will come into the market. Meaning that some of the rarer ones might get a second coming.

The strike is mostly over, but they're still in negotiations as far as I know. Nintendo wants to wait for everything to be a done deal before moving forward with Wave 4 shipments. Sometimes these things flare back up if the negotiations don't go well.

Decently rare, but could be more common after more shipments arrive. Get it anyway.

I thought names were a general amiibo feature, not limited to Smash. I mean, the Wii U's amiibo settings thing lets you name them, no Smash required, so it'd be odd if it was not possible for some of them.

Oh, really? I never bothered to look for that. That's strange. Wouldn't that cause problems if the internal name was different from the in-game name?

The name part of it is consistent and can be done anywhere, it's just the game data that isn't. Smash bros goes through the Wii U system to name the amiibo.

Went back and picked up the last Fox amiibo.
Decided to go try the other Best Buy across town.
They had about 9 Foxes.
