Look, it's not about the fact that it happened, it's how he handled it, and he handled it really shittily.

A lot of the salt and upset people could have been avoided if he was just up front with us instead of being cryptic and obfuscating.

Not all of it, obviously, but at least most.

Well, what kind of damage to you has his handling of the situation made? Do the people feel like they wasted their time looking for the items playing a game they presumably like? Or what? I seriously don't understand. This whole issue went completely past me, I wouldn't even have noticed if I didn't go to reddit today to mention one of the bugs that has been bugging me has been fixed.
And an issue that directly affects you that you could completely miss is not much of an issue in my opinion.

Yes, considering they kept constantly restarting and using a bunch of sets that they probably wouldn't want to use when they could be playing through the game normally with what they wanted to use.

But aside from that, you're handwaving all of the issues brought up because "it didn't affect me", which is a pretty shitty defense.

That's a silly thing to do to begin with and not much fun even if it does work. Why do they want to unlock everything in the game within the first week so badly that they do things that are tedious and not fun to achieve it?

People can have fun in their own ways, the issue I see here is poor communication from Edmund. Some people are super curious and want to explore the game as fast as possible. If Edmund said at launch "sorry guys we failed to complete the game in time and some content will be locked until we can finish", there would have been way less of an issue.

Wait so they straight up buffed sacrifice room drops? Or does he have some item that improves the drop?

Man, I kind of liked the drops being rare, it really enforced a feeling of "why would you just step on spikes, dumbass". But i guess ill start using them more often now...?

Well, that was kinda the reason no one used them before. Curse rooms had a much better hurt:reward ratio, on both the hurt AND the reward side.

Oh hey, this is a thread that exists!
I started playing Rebirth about a month ago, and though it's very frustrating when it goes wrong, it's very fun when it all goes right. I've had some really funny synergies with ridiculous damage, like quad shot + soy milk + bouncing tears + splash damage + Libra that gave me maximum attack, or Technology + Techology 2 + homing shot + Ludovico Technique.
I'm slowly making my way through challenges, and Hard Mode is kicking my booty fiercely. I did manage to clear every boss (sans Mega Satan) with Eden on hard, including the boss rush, so yay.
Getting to Mega Satan seems like a pain, and so does unlocking the Lost, so I'll probably wait until I get Afterbirth to do these. For now I want to try to finish some more challenges and unlock more items, but I guess Afterbirth is gonna be in my near future. Greed Mode looks fun. I'm not looking forward to the new bullshit-shaped rooms though.

The original Lost is super stupid bullshit tier. Mega Satan is pretty doable, you just need to get lucky and a good run.

Mega Satan isn't too bad, on average if you can get to him you have a good enough run to beat him.

Definitely save the lost for afterbrith, he gets a huge buff and eventually holy mantle if you sink enough time into Greed mode. I resorted to modding the lost in original rebirth for RPG just because I couldn't be persuaded to give a shit about trying to do it legit after 1,000+ deaths with no results.

Don't really get the point of hacking in an achievement but ok.

I thought I was small after getting a couple of "One makes you small" pills, but then I just kept getting more and more until I eventually ended up being pretty much invisible.
The shadow in front of me is my detached head because of Guillotine.
