I like how they complain about discrimination/unsafe enviroments and then stereotype an entire large demographic in the same breath while sending death threats and the like.

Blatant double standards are something these people practice on a regular basis.

Fuck, even another ex-NFL dickwad got in on it. This is just pathetic and not helping anti-GamerGate arguments at all.

I'm going to go subscribe to TotalBiscuit now.

Charity work like this would have been an excellent place to find common ground. Working together towards a mutually desirable goal, learning that the people on this or that side of the issue aren't all bad and growing from the experience, all that lovey-dovey stuff. Are we gonna hafta wait for Extra Life 2015 or some other big benefit drive for another chance like this?

Also, is it just me or is this whole a massive overreaction? It was just a retweet.

Well when an event happens, a reaction incites another reaction, which incites another reaction exponentially, also multiplied by the initial reaction. Basically if it starts off a big mess it'll end an even bigger mess, especially if it involves something that involves large groups with strong opinions or emotions, at that point at a exponent of 10 to this horror stew.

It was a retweet of a tweet that specifically asked for a signalboost. There was bodaciously nothing to even react to, yet these people still managed to behave like shitflinging retards.

I recently found out that some game news sites have heralded a simplistic mobile game called Desert Golfing as some sort of modern art masterpiece. Article titles include "Lost For Thousands of Strokes: 'Desert Golfing' Is 'Angry Birds' as Modern Art" from The Daily Beast, "Sublime simplicity: The transcendent beauty of Desert Golfing" from Arstechnica, and VICE with their especially soapboxy in actual content "Desert Golfing' and Video Gaming's Gradual March to the Other Side".

The game didn't catch on like wildfire judging by its statistics on iTunes and Google Play, but the articles irritate me just the same because they're the kind of pretentious bull that game journalists love to write and attempt to pass off what's essentially an infinite distraction as something more. Hell, even the creators of the game want it to seem like an artsy-fartsy experience, based on its description in the stores: "To see a world in a bunker of sand/ and a heaven in a wild cactus. Hold infinity in the pocket of your shorts/ and eternity in Desert Golfing."

CheshireCatStudios discusses Hatred after all the dust has settled. I think they have some good points about peoples' reactions and provide interesting alternate perspectives on the game.

I don't know if this was posted here, but those neo-Nazi accusations really blew on the SJW's faces.

That's a good find.

In other news, I liked P4R's recent article satirizing Valve:
Fake Valve Employee wrote:
“Everyone in the gaming industry is already making video games, so why should we follow this trend that’s inevitably going to crash?” questioned the employee, “Making video games themselves is the least profitable thing you could possibly do. Video games are simply a conduit to more profitable ventures like microtransactions. We wouldn’t make video games if we didn’t have to. We’re just looking for people who want to make something for the sole purpose of selling virtual items. This is why games like Portal 2 failed in our eyes.”
