I'm still not sure how I want to play GZ. I'd rather not play it on 360/PS3 and I have no plans of buying either new console. A PC version would solve all of my Metal Gear related problems but god knows when that'll be released.

Oh no, the XBone version of GZ has got SNATCHERs? Dammit Microsoft, this time. I still won't buy your console but I will admit you got the cooler exclusive that ultimately will probably not matter.

And RAIDEN.

I was watching the trailer and going "HOLY SHIT YES" for most of it. Including the watermelon.

Though I'll probably wait for the first sale if it's more than 30€.

I just thought of something: Ground Zeroes is going to have a lot of or all of its missions in the Caribbean. What if one of the missions has remnants of the Jackdaw or possibly some treasure that Edward Kenway buried?

The MGR PC port is very solid. Runs well and has no glaring flaws. Considering how most Japanese PC ports turn out, this was a nice surprise.

I just beat Mistral and I'm learning fast. Starting on hard was definitely the right choice.

There's no actual Boss Rush, BUT you can use chapter select to just kick the shit out of almost any boss.

I don't know if Metal Gear Rising or MGSV will be my first Metal Gear title.

Eh, lets go with Rising.

You most definitely don't want to start with the fifth game in a series. MGR is a spinoff so it's not a bad starting point but consider picking up the Legacy Collection and playing through the games in order before 5.

I can already tell it's going to be a nightmare finding a copy of that MGS1 remake.

And I actually already have Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 for PS2, I just don't have a PS2 to play them on.

The original PS1 version of MGS is considered the best. The Legacy Collection includes every main release but it's only out for the PS3. The HD collection is also out for the 360 and includes 2, 3 and PW.

Analysis of the MGR PC port
I'm still going to get it since I don't have any other option, the crash on disconnect thing will hopefully get fixed and I was going to use a controller anyway.

Still
Quote:
heavily compressed cutscenes

Quote:
25 GB required space

how

They're definitely not heavily compressed. My main issue with them is that they're in 30 fps which makes the transition between gameplay and cutscenes a bit jarring.

I sorta get the complaint about the intro movies but I feel like that's one of those things you shut up about because these are the people that made the thing and they want to be recognized. Calling it a "Black Mark" that the companies telling you that they own the thing goes on too long for you're liking seems a bit audacious.
