It is my very professional opinion that Paper Mario Sticker Star is the bomb-diggety.

Okay, new biggest problem: No place to store unused stickers.

I wouldn't consider any of the complaints that people have made towards Sticker Star to be as blanketed and generalized as the character's complaint in that picture.

Okay, so Sticker Star is a really good game.

But it's not a good Paper Mario game.

So many changes to the series, an intro that gets to the point with little traditional PM fluff (you don't even get to lose to Bowser), the fact that you pretty much have to use Boss weaknesses that you have to guess (and lose cheddar and the fight if you're wrong) to beat, and the stickers don't make too much sense for being the "only" way to attack when you can initiate a battle and do damage by physically jumping or hitting them with a hammer.

I think the system would have worked better if stickers were used to "enhance" your regular attacks. Put a fire sticker on your hammer, and now you have a firehammer attack. But don't take away the ability to use regular jumps/hammer attacks if you don't have the stickers. In world 2, I was constantly running low on jump attacks for all of the enemies that were flying. There are plenty of stickers everywhere, but they kept giving me hammer stickers when they weren't usable.

Also, minor gripe, but why did Kammy have to be replaced by Kamek (at the very least, both could have been in the game)? Kammy IS a major part of Paper Mario, and taking her out just because she originated with Paper Mario is stupid. She's still a Magikoopa. She's not something like Flurrie, Beldam, or O'Chunks where they're not based on species from the Mario series.

I just think things could have been done better without sacrificing other Paper Mario elements.

I had actually thought that they would make the Stickers function like the badges from the previous games, since stickers are more paper-y for a Paper Mario game. That would have been cool too.

I don't think I'll bother with that one, though I haven't played any other Paper Mario games (I wanted to get Super Paper Mario but couldn't and there's other Wii games I'd like to get more than that) but Sticker Star doesn't really look like the kind of thing I'm into, from what I've seen on the internet and on the promo vid I have on the 3DS.

Luigi's Mansion 2, on the other hand, should hurry the fuck up and get in the shops!

Those bosses are hard when you don't know their weakness. And even when you think you do you still end up wasting a ton of stickers and getting kersti mad for not finding a better weakness. I was close when I though it was faucet --> car battery.
Also I love the humour in this game. I nearly died laughing when I used the Bowling Ball in its right place.

Aha... the battle with Kamek on the tip of the Yoshi sphinx tongue was certainly an interesting fight.

I am enjoying Sticker Star so far, was annoyed early on how little album room you had to carry stickers, but more pages are added soon enough.

Really missing the exp. and level up function, there is very little reason to actually fight minor enemies now, before you would start fights to get the first blow and get experience, now I actively skip every enemy I can so I don't waste good stickers on a weakened enemy.

Kamek makes Kamak Kamad.

It's more that Kammy was a Magikoopa that was used in the entire Paper Mario series before this. She wasn't a run of the mill Magikoopa like Kamek, and shoehorning Kamek in just feels weird when you're obviously using him as a replacement for Kammy.

It's kinda like a cousin Oliver thing.

Also, I'm warming up to Sticker Star. World 3 did wonders to break down the walls I had for the game. Especially the boss.

Actually, you're hurting yourself by doing that. The more enemies you defeat, the more coins you get when you grab the comet sticker, and since you get the most coins when you do your first playthrough of the level (before the comet stickers become transparent), it's best to fight everything. Just stock up on some staples, and maybe wait until later to carry around the Blue Door stickers.

You can, however, skip enemies on the boss levels. With no Comet Stickers there, fighting enemies really is pointless unless you want to waste stickers to get some better ones off the walls/farm for some perfects for your flags.

I got Sticker Star today and I really like it!

It's almost like it's such a simple game that it's actively making fun of other games that try to be complex. Stickers? Sure whatever. And the fact that everyone in this game realizes they're made of paper is pretty hilarious.

Although oh wow, the bosses are actually tough? World 1 boss seemed easy enough but I had to heal a lot. And I thought I had his weakness down, but then Kersti chided me for "using too many stickers." Fuck off.

What was his weakness, by the way?

when his pieces start flipping around because they're tired, you use either the Fan or Scissors.
