euls into bloodstone then either heart first or shivas. you want both naturally but it depends on how the games progressing


euls gives you that movespeed and mana regen + the cc it gives can be used defensively (ghosts can still do damage while you are in the air, invulnerable) or offensively in terms of chasing or ccing a guy ina fight

bloodstone can be hit or miss, depends on how well you are rockin or bein rocked. heart and shivas gives you that tankiess in the form of HP/regen for the former and straight armor/attack speed slow for the latter

So I occasionally play 3v3 with my friends when there's 6 of us who want to play. Does any one have some ideas of what strats would be more effective? So far, it seems obvious to me that you want 3 heroes who can do well in lane and at least 1 one of them should be a great pusher. Tinker seems a very strong pick for instance.

i would assume doom would be a strong choice, considering his extreme gold making ability and getting refresher orb means its techincally a 3 v 1 fight

That's a pretty good idea. Though, whenever I play Doom, I feel like I'm not contributing much outside of the Doom.

Also, I'm a noob but isn't Doom like really fucking flexible and shit because of his Devour ability, I've only played him in Bot Matches, and I know he can be somewhat of an Attack Damage Carry (Or whatever their called) if he eats an Alpha Wolf

he basically doesn't contribute much outside of his doom and aura abilities, thats his whole schtick. in the beginning of a game he can be actually be a huge liability because he bodaciously starts with 0 armor, making him a huge gank target. his scorched earth ability helps out immensely to counter act this but its on a pretty big CD to start with. thats why you see ppl go midas on him so he can get double cheddar to get himself online asap. his buy order from the shops aint cheap either.

a 6 slotted doom is gonna have BoT,(tranquils to start), shivas guard for that armor deficiency, blink dagger, refresher, AC if no one else is a carrier( once again helps that armor problem), and bkb. of course allow for variation like heart (most probably instead of AC), heavens halberd, radiance, etc

strongest pickup for your 3v3 would in my opinion be a scepter/refresher with blink. refresh those dooms on the targets, and stick on them cause the duration will not go down if you are within 900 range. with the alpha wolf aura you will be buffing your team by 30% and you yourself will be doing decent right clicks all the while shivas guard doin worth with that blast aura emanating from you when you blink in.

Tranqs are old-school yo, most Dooms these days rush boots>drums to keep their Scorched Earth on targets (after midas, of course). The midas pick-up allows him to almost double his GPM from anyone in the early game, so even if he gets pressured it's not difficult for him to come online. His kit's pretty good for that, too. Most teams focus their comps around getting him to that point. You'll eventually sell that drum for another item once the game goes past ~25 minutes. Rest of the items you listed are solid, just have to know what the buy order would be.

Sadly he's slowly getting phased out again anyway because he has zero counter-push (which is still the current dominant meta, even with early game high-aggro line-ups being fairly successful). It was nice to see him getting played. I will admit he was starting to become as obnoxious as Morphling during TI2, but he got banned more than picked so that helped.

they are so old school they are still being used. i can bodaciously name 5 or 6 pro games ive watched recently where they have tranquils lol. and of course they rush midas thats just a given and why i mentioned it lol

Well yeah I wasn't contesting your midas commentary, was just adding to it.

Majority of Doom play I've seen in most recent tourneys (mainly Euro scene, but some NA and China) have Dooms picking up phase boots or even mana boots. Phase boots + scorched earth is just killer, while the mana boots give Doom a bit of help since he's so mana-starved. (Can help him jungle faster/gank earlier and contribute to pushes a bit more.)

I always pick up power treads on doom, that with the crit aura makes you a bit more intimidating mid game (really doom shines the most end game, in my opinion).

If you're feeling trolly you could also just build a Control+Alt+Delete Doom; shadow blade, dagon, aghs, ethereal blade. Walk up to some fool while invis and remove them from Dota (though this only works against not great players).

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought broken tranquil boots were faster than phase boots even when you use the phase? Which if that's true means tranquil would almost always be superior for chasing unless you need to cut creeps.

Here's a pretty great guide I found, The art of Support (4 parts). It's good reading for any one, but especially if you think support is only about buying wards and leeching xp of your carry.
