Artorias is probably the hardest boss in the entire series so far.

Hunt and peck. Wait for an opening and take advantage. If you have heavy weapons, when he starts charging up for his damage boost, you can smash him and break his poise and he'll stop.

Are there any weapons that are particularly good for dex/faith builds? Or is a dex/faith hybrid just not gud?

Usually, weapons based around faith in DS1 were strength/faith. I can't think of a single dex/faith weapon.

In DS2, due to the changes to infusions, go fucking nuts.

Are the twinblades worth making a character centered around them
They look fucking amazing but I don't know how effective they actually are in combat (My current character is not a dex build so I can't use them)

Twinblades are... iffy. At this point, everyone knows how to counter them, and they don't do a lot of damage.

Unless, of course, you're going for STRENGTH twinblades, like the stone and red rust twinblades. Those have slightly altered movesets and do much much more damage.

So, how does everyone think the two Dark Souls games compare?
I firmly believe that while Dark Souls 2 is better from a technical standpoint, the first one is better elsewise. The combat and graphics are better in the second one but that's it. The first one had better story and lore and it just felt so much more like an adventure. I'm not sure how it's the case, but it definitely does feel like you're exploring the world of the first game but just kind of going through the second one.

I know. Already used my Bone of Order. Turns out you can be banned for leaving without saving and quitting. I'd just go to a bonfire and turn my PS3 off instead of saving and quitting. No invasions involved. Bam, banned.

Ok so it's probably because I've stopped playing DS2 forever and only just picked it up again, but how is one supposed to figure out what the Ashen Mist Heart is for?

i honestly have no idea off the top of my head, but it seems somewhat relevant that you'd check everywhere you can through the king ring locked doors, and eventually you'd figure you should be able to do SOMETHING with the tree giants

Yeah, but I checked the King's Doors when I got the King's ring, at which point you don't have the heart yet. After being stuck for a while I guess you could think of checking those giant trees again since they didn't seem to do anything at first, but that's pretty much pure guesswork.
