The carbon roller is delightfully fast and I enjoy covering large amounts of ground with it, but the Inkzooka is definitely not my super-attack of choice.

My friend showed me the wonders of the Krak-On Splatroller. It's so satisfying being able to cover so much area with ink smoothly. I really like the new Custom Dual Squelcher, though. Beacons are so great to throw around the map. The Killer Wail is hard for me to use, though.

I tend to go with Kelp Chargers most of the time. They're like the Inkstrike in the way they scatter foes. I'd recommend running Special Charge Up gear with them so you can fire them off more often. If I'm lucky I sometimes get three or more per match! If not for scattering foes, they're good distractions. I'm sure there are more uses for it but those are all I can think of at the moment.

Yeah, the scrolls start out with interesting tidbits about the Inklings and Octarians but around world 2 or 3 they start delving into the backstory of the world.

If you can't be bothered (though I really recommend you do, it's presented in a far more interesting light in the scrolls) I'll sum the whole thing up here.

Global warming meant the seas rose and humanity died out. Molluscs evolved to colonise what little land was left (or maybe the seas went down after a while, it's not really made clear) and became the land-locked octarians and inklings. The seas rose further, and the two races fought in the Great Turf War on which the game's casual sporting events are modelled to decide who got the land. The Octarians lost and had to live underground in domes.

I'm not sure what the off-shooting strafing would add to Splatoon. There is little reason to move by foot in the first place, and pressing left (at least as squid, I don't remember as kid) doesn't rotate the camera.

New game mode incoming! From what I gather it's similar to TF2's Payload mode, though I'm fairly inexperienced with TF2 so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
