Kiefer is already voicing Ishmael. Of course people are speculating that Ishmael is in BB's head (From what we've seen he disappears after the ambulance crash.)

From what I've seen we don't have any actual video of Kiefer voicing BB yet. I still kind of cling to the hope that Hayter isn't just butthurt and is purposefully trolling people.

I'll be fine with it either way, though. It's still MGSV, really.

So they definitely have Sutherland's voice in the trailer, but show absolutely no mo-cap to go with it. I mean it's ridiculous if they had Sutherland go that far with the joke but maybe it is misdirection after all. He doesn't sound too out of place in the role though, I wouldn't be absolutely rustled if Hayter really is out.

Besides that though, the game looks stunning. Like they took the gameplay of 3 and 4 and made the worlds even bigger. I'm not too keen on the names they have for the characters (Quiet, Code Talker, and Skull Face just seem so...juvenile. I mean stuff like Paz was silly and Pacifica Ocean wasn't much better, but at least those felt like names), but everything else looks amazing. Here's hoping they show more soon.

In case you haven't noticed yet, the series is nothing but silly names.

Cool sounding silly names. Nostalgia is always right. Always.

That kid was incredibly anime so he's probably young Liquid.

Also SkullFace is a great name or at least better then Hot Coldmen, at least because its the kinda silly you can pull off. And I love how Punished Snake had to put Kaz's sunglasses on. Like it was some kind of priority.

Sins of the Father is a pretty sick James Bond theme though.

So the PC version of MGR was confirmed to be released 'soon' just before E3. Hope that means we'll get it this summer.

I like the dynamic CQC where you just grab people's guns and murder them with it, and the jumping around that was shown. Looks like Kojima is taking a few pointers from Assassin's Creed; BB being able to jump across ledges like he did in the village adds a whole new level of stealth that I hope is used to the fullest. I really hope they don't impose penalties on you for going about killing enemies when push comes to shove and you get caught. A man hell-bent on revenge for being sold out and having his base blown up doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would use tranq pistols to stop an alert. Like i said before, Big Boss' reputation as a supervillain can't all just be the work of Zero and his flunkies. He's probably going to rack up a huge kill-count in this game, either in-cutscene or in-game.

Ocelot sounds pitch-perfect, and I honestly don't mind Sutherland as Big Boss.

So with the Legacy Collection out now, I got to wondering: Did Kojima just retcon out Portable Ops? I mean he never includes it in any talks of the whole series (with the themes and all) and Miller has that line in Peace Walker that might be blunt dissatisfaction for the game.

Portable Ops kinda happened except nothing that happened in Portable Ops is important except Boss getting cheddar to make Outer Heaven but then the reason Mother Base exists is because you get it as part of your pay for taking Paz's mission in Peace Walker so really nothing in PW happened in any meaningful way.

Also they change Grey Fox's backstory again but I'm pretty sure that isn't canon so let's not talk about that.

I still don't quite understand Peace Walker's full importance, though I don't think we will until V. I'd argue it's just as important as any of the other numbered games, both in themes and considering Miller, Huey, Chico, Paz, and Mother Base look like incredibly important pieces in V. I'm still a little surprised it doesn't have a number itself.

But yeah, Grey Fox. We never see him in Peace Walker, and then it looks like Phantom Pain is set in places/times that correspond with his backstory, so I wonder if he plays a big part and they "forgot" Portable Ops to let him have it without any problems.

Kojima originally said PW should be treated like MGS5 in all except name but I guess he changed his mind.
Also as far as the Meta-plot of MGS goes PW mostly shows BB starting his decent into his war-orphan-child-soldier-flawless-plan stage and also talks about The Boss more. Also it has the most overtly evil antagonist in the series (baring perhaps MGR) and he's hilarious.

So people seem to be raising a bit of a stink about the design of the new character Quiet

Whadda you guys think?

The series has had similarly designed characters (read: T&A) since day one and Kojima has always been very open about it so I'm not sure how this comes as a surprise to anyone. Besides, we know nothing about the actual personality of Quiet or any of the other new characters and there's no reason why she couldn't have other positive qualities as well.

I'll never really understand the problem people have with attractive characters in media.

It's less "gosh why did you make this soldier so attractive" and more "she's a soldier, why would she be wearing a bikini if not for sex appeal?". Design is all about telling you about the character through image alone, and if her image is solely "I am half naked" (which it's not but that's the interpretation) then you start to think she's an object and not a character. I mean I've always found it odd that Sniper Wolf never got too cold or EVA didn't catch a lot of wind resistance on her bike, but I've mostly been able to ignore it in the series if the actual characters are well written (which Kojima and his team have been very good about, save maybe for the B&B corps and a couple others).

However, I do think it's pushing it too far to post a picture of the character's booty on twitter and say "cosplayers, take note"! If Kojima just left the comment at "I'm aiming to make the designs sexier", I think things would have been fine.
