About those difficulties...

It said there'd be a lower-difficulty mode, and a higher one without tutorial/hint aspects.

My question is: is the higher difficulty mode actually going to be harder than the usual Zelda fare? Or did they just make a dumbed-down version for the easy difficulty, and leave the "normal" difficulty as "hard?"

Skyward Sword looks neat. I gotta actually buy games now for my Wii this year

Darn

But anyway. Am I the only one still hoping for like, a gory, visceral Zelda? I kinda want one. :I

I always love seeing a hero covered in blood

Especially if it's his own.

It's a lot like in Crisis Core, Zack's death scene.
I was like, "NOOOOOO", but at the same time, I was giddy with, "Oh man, even when he's dying he looks badass covered in blood."

Sorry for mentioning another game.

I have no desire to see Link covered in blood-splatter.

yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

"Link side steps Goma's claw, rolls, and thrusts his blade straight into her eye. She clicks her mandibles together and creates a cacophonous death rattle as she slips to the ground, Link's short sword coming from the bulbous eye covered in green gore. He falls to his knees and his hands fall in the green gore and suddenly he feels a new, invigorating strength within him."

Violent Zelda would be my favorite Zelda

I re-watched the new Zelda trailer to see if there's anything I missed...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPGz70F4jpg

Okay, so we finally get a trailer for the new Zelda game! Lets see what we've got...

It looks like I'm going to need the Wii MotionPlus for this game, which I don't have...

I wonder what those red orge/trolls are... I guess they're Moblins, but I thought Moblins were supposed to be more pig-like.

It looks like Deku Babas are returning.

The Scorpion boss looks cool.

Are those Deku Scrubs or Octoroks? I thought they were Deku Scrubs since they had bush leaves on their head, but the Zelda Wiki labeled them as Octoroks... Then again, though DO have tentacles, so I guess they really are Octoroks.

Oh look, Stalfos! And it's wielding two swords at once! Awesome!

Link gets his bow/arrows, bombs, and slingshot in this game, as well as this remote controlled thing and what looks like a whip... That's cool!

Well, the trailers showed us absolutely NOTHING about the game, other than all that. I wish they could have told us a bit more about the story, or a bit more insight to that Master Sword girl from the year before. But still, I like where they're going with this game; kind of like a cross between Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker. A less cartoony design for Link, but a vastly colorful kind of game that Nintendo's great at making.

How does extensive gameplay mean absolutely nothing?

There's some major butthurt going on with this game, in terms of graphics and everything...

It's like Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks all over again (There was a lot of raeg about Spirit Tracks too because of the train).

The only qualm I have right now is the presence of the Bow AND the Slingshot. Like, they sort of added it into Twilight Princess because they knew that TP was going to be the first wii game that most people played. It was a demonstration of the basic motion-sensing capabilities but didn't really contribute to gameplay. I will only care for the Slingshot if it somehow functions differently than the Bow...maybe they'll bring back different types of ammo, like in the Oracle games? Doubtful, but it's a guess.

As for the story, I don't know if this has been posted, but...

(Stolen from Zelda Wiki, you can go check the sources if you're going to be so cleverly doubtful)
In this game, Link has lived his entire life in an island above the clouds known as Skyloft; however, one day, he discovers a land below, which is actually Hyrule,[11] but realizes that it is being overrun by evil forces and is forced to go there. As such, the young hero must spend his journey traveling back and forth between these two regions: Skyloft and the land below. According to Aonuma, the sky will play a very important role in the game.[12]

The Skyward Sword, which is the girl shown on the poster on E3 2009, possesses intelligence and will assume the semi-human form in the teaser poster. Eventually, the Skyward Sword will become the Master Sword. The Skyward Sword is also the driving force behind Link's traveling between the two lands and the sword will focus "heavily on the reason why there are two lands divided by a bank of clouds.
Guys
If he gets a hot air balloon we know that Nintendo stole this idea from the game we created in the Spirit Tracks thread.
If the trailer had told us a bunch about the story, and showed us a bunch of snippets of cutscenes, it would be a Final Fantasy game.
