F.E.A.R. by far for me. It in a dark and quiet area can be pretty fucking scary at times. F.E.A.R. II, not so much. The Silent Hill series comes at a close second with it being generally scary. Also, being virtually defenseless made for overdue anxiety.

God I forgot to mention the Regenerators of RE4. I hate how they walk, how they breathe, and how they constantly shake, like they're having a seizure! They go "Shuffle shuffle spasm wheeze*

Iron Maidens are even worse...because they can one-hit kill Leon...and that mouth! Ugh, what IS that?!
