Capcom mostly doesn't give a shit about capitalizing the second M in titles because it looks megadumb if done wrong and it's not worth the trouble (since most of the time they just adapt the Japanese title/ logo). However the games are called Mega Man, and the characters are all Name Man (except in BN as DnD pointed out, and... uh... except characters that don't have Man in their name. Doctor Light Man?!).

Good news, everyone!

I was on the Wii Shop Channel just now and they have Mega Man 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the Virtual consol, and 9 and 10 as Wii Ware things. 9 and 10 are 1000 'Wii Points' each, meaning that I could buy both for £14 and the older games are 500 points each, so getting all of the oldies (that are avialiable) would also only cost me £14!!

Do you think I can persuade my folks into letting me get six games at once for only £28 would work? I mean, most Wii games are around £35 new for just one game, and this would be less cheddar for more stuff!

However, lets say I can't get them all at once. Which should I get first? (I know Gutsman is pretty hard in the original unless you use the pause glitch, but do they keep that stuff in the vitual consol games?)

But yeah, the prices seem reasonable~ Also I love the new thread title~~

I believe it's still there, yes. Also for the first game, I'd say pick either 2, 3 or 9!

Yeah, 2, 3, and 9 were the best ones.
Two was the easiest out of all of them (because it basically has easy mode, durr) so you might want to get it first to ease yourself into the mechanics. I'd suggest 9 after that because the gameplay is nearly identical, then move on to 3 so the slide feature won't throw you off in games that don't have it.

Yeah I'd suggest 2 as the first game. Hella fun, and it's not so ball bustingly hard that it'll make you quit after a few failures.

These are games you gotta learn though, so don't get discouraged if you get your booty handed to you one too many times.

Awesome~ I might start with 2, in that case (though if I could get all of them at once it'll be super awesome)

Yeah, I'm not really used to truely hard gaming, but I'm ready for something new (or old, as the case may be) I've been so obsessed with Mega Man lately, I'm willing to go though all the game overs I'll get playing the games X3;;

Awwww yeahhhh!

I have a £15 Nintendo EShop Card now! That's 1700 Nintendo Points!!

Ok, ok I'm probably going to start off with 2, and that'll leave 1200 points. Then it's a choice between getting either 9 or 10 for 1000, or getting two more old games, which are 500 points each. I'll need another card or cheddar or whatever to get the rest, and that's if I only focus on Mega Man games.

I also have my eye on other old games, like Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country and the like. I think the SNES games are 800 points though, and I really want to play Mega Man games~

I played Mega Man 8 in my early years.

And I survived.

Somehow.

Geeze, was MM8 really that bad? D:>

oh well, it's time for

MEGA MAN 2 HELL YEAH!!

I started playing it yesterday. First I tried Air Man's stage.

After a couple of bottomless pit induced game overs, I tried Wood Man's level instead. By the time I got to him, I only had about half my health, but on the next attempt I Mega Buster'd him away, yay!

Bubble Man stage time. I had no idea how trippy the waterfall backround parts were. Still, it wasn't too bad an I manged to finish him off quickly with the Mega Buster. Bubble Lead get!

Finally managed to get though Air Man's level and got him using the trusty Leaf Shield.

Got owned by Heat Man's level a few times, so Metal Man was the next Robot Master I defeated. He was easier than I thought. Metal Blade AWWW YEAH!

Went on the Flash Man, who has great taste in Music. He was a pushover with the Metal Blade though, he took like one or two hits before pewpewpewpew...da na da na dananaNAHHH! Time Stopper was gotten.

Heat Man time agian. It took /a lot/ of tries, as I kept using Item 2's energy too soon before the HUGE lava pit with the disappering tiles. Finally got though and hit him with Bubble Man's weapon. Atomic Fire gogogo.

Next on my list was Crash Man, who's level was a bitch. Particularly the part with all the ladders and the annoying birds with eggs with loads of tiny birds. Crash Man himself was easy with the Air Shooter though. Yay, Crash Bombs!

Finally, Quick Man. His level was way harder than I though with all those frikken lazer beams. Only after about four more game overs did it twig to me that maybe stopping time would help. After that I got though after a few tries. Quick Man was pretty hard, but the Crash Bombs delt with him quite nicely. Also Quick Boomerang time wooo~

So, now I'm at Wily's Castle stage 1...and I'm a little stuck at the part where you climb a ladder and them I think you're ment to use item one for a bridge but I keep messing it up and running out of ammo. Any advice, guys?

Use item 3 at the beginning of the stage to climb the obstacles, then item 1 to go over the big empty space to the next ladder. You have to use it three or four times.

First of all, the best Robot Master to start from is Metal man, because he's kind of a pushover and Metal Blades are OP as fuck
Second, at the part with the ladder you are supposed to start from the bottom of the screen (while on the ladder) and place an Item-1 to your left. Quickly jump on it, move to the left of the platform (remember that you can safely stand with a foot on the ground without fear of falling), place another, jump on it, do the same and then get on the ladder on top of the screen

I think the actual order by boss weaknesses and level difficulty is:

Metal Man
Wood Man
Air Man
Crash Man
Flash Man
Quick Man
Bubble Man (he's beaten by metal man's weapon, but you need wood man's to take out air man so he goes over here)
Heat Man

And then in the Wily stages when you fight Metal Man again he's bodaciously one-shotted by his own weapon so he's weak to himself.
