That's just it. She isn't you, she isn't me, she isn't any of us. She's supposed to be Samus Aran - "galactic warrior". Despite her past, she's always shown, through her actions, that she doesn't take shit from anyone. She isn't fueled by fear. Just because her family was murdered doesn't mean she has to cry about it every time Ridley rears his ugly head. She's always been cast as an intelligent and powerful woman - it'd be stupid of her to think that he wouldn't keep coming back.

All her previous reactions didn't strike me so much as her being fearful of Ridley as much as it was her thinking, "well, goddammit."

They put the game in the wrong place on the timeline. Simple as that.

Honestly, I'm surprised that Samus was even given a personality at all in any of the games.

You'd think they would have kept her a Gordan Freeman-esque character.

It probably would have worked better that way.

I dunno. I just kind of like the idea of Samus being afraid of SOMETHING. It makes her more human.

Finally beat the game.

Overall, I think it was a great story. Weak script, but great story. I loved how you got to fight [spoiler]Nightmare[/spoiler].

Which is why I really liked this game.

I never got a chance to play any of the original games and I've only played the Prime series so I can't really have a say on how well the story line flows, but I was a bit annoyed at Samus' voice.

I wish they had chosen a different voice actor for her, honestly, or something. She was too 'girly' and monotone (I can understand that though).

Compared to other games where she makes an appearance in her zero suit, all I can say is holy shit she's got curves on her this time. Also, the beauty spot? Was that necessary? Badass bounty hunder Samus Aran has a beauty spot...

The actual game play itself was pretty cool. Hated when it freezed in FPS mode and you had to find some insanely stupid small thing though. Apart from that though I quite liked the gameplay. I had lots of fun with the speed booster har.

Yeah, that's a small detail, but I didn't understand that either.

I just got the game, and while I'm still getting used to the controls and while the acting is a bit... off, I'm liking it so far. Definitely liking it more than Metroid Prime!

I've decided that I don't mind Samus being afraid of something she's killed a zillion times before.

I have the game, and I've played it up to the end of Sector 1. STILL getting used to the controls, but I'm definitely loving it so far!
