Oh he got to shoot up in one game with a special weapon
I don't understand what is so great
A) All blades are metal
B) It was only for one game
And I'm sure that people only used those weapons against the bosses and their weaknesses anyway so how is that valid?
He can shoot upwards, but not with his gun
If you ever watched a speed run of a Mega Man game, you'd know that Metal Blades are used for more than just killing bosses, they utterly DECIMATE nearly everything in the entire game.
Mega Man 3 has the Shadow Blade, which could also be shot in all upwards directions
Mega Man 4's dust crusher explodes into diagonal shots
Mega Man 5's Gyro Attack can be shot up and down
Mega Man 6's Blizzard Attack has diagonal shots, and the Tomahawks fly upward
Mega Man 7's Freeze Cracker can be aimed diagonally
Mega Man 8's Tornado Hold, obviously, reaches all the way up the screen. The homing missiles seek enemies
Rockman & Forte's Magic Cards can be shot upward
Mega Man 9's Hornet Chasers seek out enemies, the Black Hole Bomb can be shot anywhere on the screen, and the Magma Bazooka has diagonal shots
Mega Man 10 has the rebound striker, which bounces all over walls and can be aimed up at an angle. The thunder wool can be shot pretty high up. And the bombs can be guided ANYWHERE
