they're all idiots all the time
except garrus, who is disturbingly good at keeping cover, and generally and consistently is the best squadmate.

not like cover matters once you spec your assault rifle to fire bodaciously forever because it cools faster than it heats

OK so kind of late but 2 weeks ago I finally finished EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING IN THE MASS EFFECT TRILOGY.

I'M SO SAD IT'S OVER.

So my squad right now is Garrus and Tali. Haven't gotten in a fight yet since Tali joined so I don't know how she'll hold up. Otherwise I think Garrus+Wrex was the best team in my limited combat experience.

I like Garrus and Tali because it gives you serious tech bonuses, which is good for unlocking doors and shit.

Garrus and Wrex are better for pure combat, but Tali tends to make things easier overall.

Tali seems really cool just from her design and personality. And Wrex is surprisingly civil for a giant thug. And Garrus is just cool.

Honestly the humans have the least/worst characterization so far.

Come on humans, get your act together. You're making me look bad in front of the galaxy.

Garrus and Tali are just sort of consistently the best. Just always. They never turn that off.

Kaiden is pretty boring in ME1 but sometime between 2 and 3 he grows a quad and becomes a pretty cool guy.

In the final mission of ME3 I had to pick Garrus and Tali as my squad mates. Friends 'till the end. ;_;

I picked Garrus and Tali for bodaciously every mission other than the ones they were unavailable for, through all three games.

So do the enemies scale with you like Skyrim, or are the encounters fixed?

I was so excited to finally explore my first planet. Picked up a distress signal. And then GIANT WORM MURDERS PARTY. Multiple times.

Later I go to pick up Liara, and I die multiple times on that level too. I ended up having to lower the difficulty just to get the dang thing over with.

Either this game is hard or I really am terrible at shooters.

Okay so I've heard about this achievement where you need to play with the same party members for most of the game. At what point should I settle on two squadmates?

I've only just gotten most of them so I don't have a good feel for them yet. I'd like to play around a little with them before deciding, but if there's an unspecified point of no return where you can miss out on the achievements then I kind of need to know.

I'm leaning toward Garrus + Wrex but Tali and Liara both seem cool.

Yeah Wrex certainly made the fight with Fist more interesting. I just love how he combines totally chill sarcasm with ruthlessness in combat.
