The 3D only starts to hurt my eyes after a few hours, and to be honest that might just be a side effect of looking at a screen for extended periods.

And as for the battery issue I have the Nyko battery pack thing, so my 3DS has the life of a DS Lite.

I can certainly appreciate what the Big N's doing with the 2DS though.

Christ that design is horrible.

It flips for a reason, and that's to protect the screens, this thing might as well be a tablet.

1. It's for kids so they don't break the screen
2. It's targeted for people ages 6 and under so they don't drop it and detach the top screen
3. It's meant for younger people who are generally clumsier and it's less likely to break
4. It's not aimed at you for fuck's sake

I guess my biggest complaint about the 2DS, aside from the design, is why was it even necessary? The 3D effect can be turned on and off.

5. Don't lash out at other members. They can think it looks ugly as sin if they want, plus closing the console does protect the screens. Kids can break the screen even when it flips open and closed though, my little cousin destroyed my original DS screen with vigorous stylus blows.

It's for a different market. It's for parents that don't want to put too much cheddar into buying a new toy for their kid, plus it comes out at the same time as Cockfighting Society X and Y.

Y'know, if I thought my kid was that clumsy or careful with his stuff I wouldn't buy him/her expensive electronics.

I had an idea where I save up for a 2DS and Pokemon X so I can trade between it and Y (which I preordered)
But then Tuxedo Mask is getting X so never mind

edit: why wordfilter why

Maybe there'll be a special 3DS X/Y bundle I should buy so I can do the same.

Some parents aren't as responsible or as cautious as that. My parents knew a couple who got their three-year-old daughter a gameboy SP for her birthday--it probably got ruined a long time ago.

When I worked at Toys R Us during the holidays I cannot tell you how many parents I saw buying their kids those expensive kid tablets.

I fulfilled my quota for buyer protection plans (hated doing this so much) by informing them it covered any kind of destruction their kid might do to it.

I dunno, I got a Gameboy Advance SP when I was 4-5 years old and it still works fine~

When you buy the 3DS, you're still paying for the 3D hardware even if you don't use it.

This takes it out, thereby making the console more affordable.

Ohh, OK, I can definitely see that. Yeah, I didn't consider that.

Bleh, I was kinda ticked at some bad luck when I made that post, and I can at least understand the design a bit better now that I look at it, I didn't really know it was meant for little kids, since most of the time, Nintendo consoles or handhelds are really meant to be for both new and veteran gamers.

But still, there's just something about the design I don't really like that much, besides, I'm probably gonna end up getting it for the cheap price anyways, so why am I complaining?

So yeah, you can say I was being a douche.
