Please...no. but I heard that that was untrue, and that the next LoZ game takes place right after TP, where Link searches for his parents and another portal to the twilight realm.

That would be hard, since as far as my loose grasp on the Zelda timeline goes, there are a bunch of different Links from different time periods that somehow are all seem exactly alike.

Like, I said, loose.
Thats what she said!

So, what, that means he can't have parents? He just gestated in a gutter somewhere?

That video looks so false I won't worry about it. "If they don't shut us down for showing this"... Let me laugh for a while please. They are not serious, because that would be killing the license...

I don't think Zelda should ever go futuristic because, to me, putting 'Legend' on anything in the future is just an oxymoron.

Just because it's a bad idea doesn't mean they wouldn't consider doing it.

I've seen worse from Nintendo.

That wasn't made by Nintendo. It was just on the N64.

well, having a LoZ game where Link looks for his parents and another portal to the twilight realm is better than a futuristic LoZ

"Hey, let's make a game about the Olympics!"
"Hold on. The last game based on the Olympics was available exclusively at Blockbuster. No one wanted it. The Olympics are kind of boring."
"Yeah, I guess you're right... But what if it was Mario Olympics?"
"I don't know if that will be enough. Remember guys, this is Nintendo. We need to do something groundbreaking every two years or folks start losing jobs."
"Hey, does anyone still have that number we were using to prank call Sega back in the nineties?"

i would love to see a futuristic zelda. as long as it keeps with gameplay, im cool for it.

and link looking for his parents is preposterous. link is YOU. theres a reason he has really no story line. he is supposed to represent the player directly. things like FF are very story based and you simply preform for some character. everything is happening from the third person. in zelda, everything happens to YOU, as it is supposed to do. i remember reading somewhere (not the internet) that miyamoto said specifically that no deep character development would happen for the sole fact that it would limit link and his world. (except the awful philips series, which nintendo refuses to recognize as a true installment of the franchise)

anyways, after some research, i uncovered a POSSIBLE next installment called the pendant of light.

highly doubtful, though.

If Link represents me, why is he male?

I don't think Link represents me. He has his own small backstory for several Zelda games, like in Minish Cap where he lives with his uncle, or in OoT where we learn of how he came to live in Kokiri Forest. It's there, it's just small.

but thats the point. each installment has its own story.

technically in OOT, YOU grew up with the kokiris. in LttP, YOU lived with your uncle. its all the setup to the story because you simply cant say ok heres this boy from nowhere.

and that female/male thing is kinda knit-picky and shows that you arent understanding my point. link is you. he is the forward projection of your action within the game.

besides, im not going to argue with the great miyamoto. it IS his creation, afterall.

it seems none of the zelda fanboys trying to fit links life story together actually listen to the guy whos telling them how it is.

ill try and look up where i saw him say that...

and in a potential sequal where link searches for his parents YOU would be looking for YOUR parents

so you see, using the same logic you're using, searching for parents isn't that far-fetched of a 'storyline'

...again, missing my point. if link has parents, then that makes him a different person.

im trying really hard to explain it, but you just aren't understanding me. :?
