The Stealth Cruiser is fun for the first level, but if you don't get some better weapons or a shield quick, you're gonna be fucked very quickly.

Okay, I've got the Kestrel (USS Dicksmasher), I've had a string of lucky gets, a full weapon bar, a couple drones, a fully-powered stealth system, and some beefed up shields. I'm at full health, and I'm staring at the Rebel flagship.

Let's get dangerous.

Mother fucker. I beat the Flagship (with little trouble), but it jumped before it exploded. I have to follow it. On the bright side, my stealth systems are better than the Rebels'.

I'd actually beaten it my first run, using the default ship, 4 II burst lasers, 2 auto-loaders and the augment that increases shield recharge. It's definitely doable, but you need decent luck and a weapon set up that synergies well.

Did you upgrade the ship at all? Maybe I need to save my scrap for augments and modules.

The trick seems to be just mucking about in the first few sectors a lot. You can build up scrap without having to worry too much about getting killed. Crew was just luck.

That 249 scrap that I've got wasn't even all I'd gotten, I definitely pushed 1000 scrap total for that run. Still didn't beat the boss, though.

Ion, bots, hull weapons, bombs, missles, burst lazers, and beam weapons have a number of uses and combinations.

Also shutting down their o2 us fun.

I can't not picture this game as you controlling a shipboard AI
