Just picked up the beta off Steam yesterday, it's definitely snazzy.
I never played the orginal team fortress so I have some practicing ahead of me.
But yeah, I can see from this that I missed out on the first.

The original Team Fortress, from what I've heard, was better. I still haven't played the beta because, being an idiot, I pre-ordered the game from Game Stop. I called them up on Saturday, though, and they said I'll be emailed the code to activate the beta in a few days. >:U

Yeah, I've heard the same, but I'm still really enjoying TF2.

Oh man, so I was playing basic CP as a scout and I was just getting destroyed by this one particular sniper. After about 10minutes of continuously getting picked off at one spot I decided to switch to a spy.
After that I snuck up to the sniper nest (disguised as a sniper) and backstabbed him.
I just about squealed with glee; it was so daisies kickass.

So right, I think I've found a favorite class.

EDIT: Err, CTF not CP.. hehe
